Jawbone - buyer beware

My Jawbone Up 24 died on Sunday after 7 months of use and they will not replace it.  Their excuse is that I bought it on Amazon through one of their 3rd party distributors.  They say they only warranty products sold directly by Amazon.

My complaint is I have used 3 different bands myself, bought two for my wife, one for my sister, mom and step mom.  That is seven bands in 13 months plus we convinced my in-laws to buy two as well.  I would say that is a pretty loyal customer.  Since the last purchase came from an  Amazon 3rd party distributor and not Amazon direct they refuse to help me out.  They confirmed my band had never been registered before so it was not a used or refurbished unit.

I refuse to spend another dollar with this company.  If they made it, sold it, confirmed it was brand new when I bought it they should warranty it. I wanted to make sure everyone is aware of their questionable warranty policies.

Have a great weekend, my rant is done.

That's a shame - We've bought several as well and they've always replaced.  I just recently got a new one because my band broke.  Sorry you've had such a bad experience.

My fit*****arge HR fell apart amost a year after I bought it. I called them..they sent a replacement.

It would not fall apart within a year...and spending thstvtime if money is ridiculous... But if that one breaks ...I will be buying an equivalent...

Bummer. I've had the opposite experience with Fitbit. I lost one years ago and they replaced it for free. I've heard many similar stories about Fitbit. They have great customer service and stand by their products. Plus, I also bought mine from a third party on Amazon.

I bought my Jawbone at Costco and had it from Feb. - June 2015 and then it stopped working.  I took it back and replaced it with a Garmin Vivosmart.  I've had it June 2015 - current, no issues so far, other than the band is starting to cause a bit of a rash on my wrist, if water gets under it.  I haven't had to change the battery (it doesn't require weekly charging like my Jawbone), either.  I purchased both from Costco, knowing that if there was a problem, it would be easily refunded/replaced.

Sorry for your luck with the company.

I had a Jawbone the first year after WLS.  It was OK, but I realized that I wanted one with a heart rate monitor.  I got the Fitbit HR.  LOVE it.  It broke about 8 months in and they sent an immediate replacement.  They actually sent two by accident and told me to keep the extra one for the trouble.
