What were some of your mistakes starting out? My biggest one (that I am working to correct) is "snacking." I have learned that I cannot do things like have pork rinds as a snack because I have issues not over eating them. I will break it up through out the day, but I definitely do not want to continue this very bad habit, so I'm actively trying to stop myself! Mistakes and all, I'll get there!

Mine was eating too fast and not chewing well enough. Also "last bite" syndrome--I think I can fit in one more bite only to find out that I really shouldn't have.

I can totally identify with "last bite syndrome." I can't tell you how may times I've been out with my sister and said, "Yep, that was the one, now my dinner is sitting right here!" and indicating my throat at collar bone level lol.

Always takes an hour for that to go away...live and learn!

I can totally agree with the snacking too. It is more out of bad habit, than actually being hungry. :(

Yes exactly. I know I'm not hungry, but I'll reach for that bag anyway! It's almost mindless in that moment. I decided no more pork rinds for me unless they ever come in a single serving bag I can buy once in awhile!

My biggest mistake was I used to put way too much into making my little meals. For example, instead of just chicken with a tiny bit of veggie, I would try to make it bacon wrapped chicken with cheese & avocado with loaded cauliflower. I was too extreme with the little bit of food I was eating. Now I keep it simple. Also, even though I would measure my food out, I still felt the need to finish everything on my plate. I still battle with that!

Also I make the mistake of eating replacement foods. Like cauliflower tots instead of tater tots. It's a total trigger food for me!

The finishing what I measured out thing is something I struggle with too! But I've always been one to practically lick the plate, so I'm fighting against decades of habit...

My biggest mistakes in the beginning were taking too big of a bite/sip and not chewing well enough. I kearned to be mindful of this. As Rachel said, measuring my portion but still fighting that old though process of having to finish my plate.I am improving on this one..and tell myself it's ok to leave those last 2 bites on the plate (I have 2 doggies and they are very happy to assist with waste management lol) I have not been sick or vomited since surgery and tell myself those 2 or 3 bites could quickly change that.
