Chapstick. Loose, comfy clothes to wear on the way home. Phone charger/long cord. I took my Kindle and didn't even look at it.

The hospital will have pretty much everything you need.

I did use my kindle and iPad - mostly on day 2. I agree with the rest. I wore comfy stretchy clothes to and from the hospital (same set), and I wore hospital gowns while there.

I agree......loose comfy clothing for the trip home, chapstick and phone charger.......I also took my iPad but never even turned it on.....the hospital will have everything you'll need, and you'll be home before you know it...AND on the Loser's Bench too!!

Today is 2 weeks since I went in. I wore loose pj's there (Pj pull on pants and a tee shirt) I also wore my house shoes. And wore the same clothes home. I used the hospital gown and slipper socks the hospital provided while there.

Big thumbs up on the chapstick. I also had some biotene mouth spray. I did use once, but my Doc let me have ice chips and sip on the water, as he does a leak test in the Operating room right after surgery while you're still out.

My mp3 player, fully charged.

I took a pillow and left it in the truck for the ride home to hold against my stomach (HELPED BIG TIME).

I actually put on a little make-up the next morning as I just felt better and wanted to look better.

A brush or comb. I also had some flushable wipes in my bag. A heating pad (didn't use it). Hair pulls (i used one)

I didn't over pack as I watched a ton of youtube vids on what people packed and never used.

Good Luck with everything, and get your butt out of bed and walk asap, they'll let you go home sooner. And you will feel better.

  1. I packed a small bag with lots of things I read suggested. I used my slippers, a sleep mask, and a clean pair of underwear.
