I'm 4 months post surgery today and 52 lbs. lighter. (24 kgs. outside the US). Every day I am thankful that I did this. I still have a looonng way to go but I feel like I'm in it for the long haul this time. I'm at the point where I'm losing my hair and I'm getting bored so I need to suck it up and keep at it. This site helps keep me honest. Thanks to everyone who's posted their stories. They all help.

CONGRATS!!! this is the long haul. Keep on here for the support. I didn't, and I just ended up back here with weight to lose again. So I'm not gonna make that mistake again!

We're here for ya!

Great job on your loss to date?

Bored with what? Food? If so, you should change up what you are eating. The meal threads (here and on the RNY forum) are great for new ideas. I actually enjoy eating more than I used to.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not bored with life, just the whole process. I feel like I'm spending too much time planning food now. Maybe it's just an adjustment until it becomes automatic.

Oh! Yes, the meal planning gets easier. I like to make batches and freeze them in individual sizes so I just have to grab something and thaw it for dinner.

Yup, long haul is right! Now is a great time to develop a new non-food interest to combat that boredom! Your body is now able to do different things. Maybe there is something you have always wanted to do but your size held you back?

Congratulations on your first 4 months. No worries about the hair, it will be back.

Thanks for the reassurance on the hair. It does worry me. I'm going on vacation this week and just being able to walk around without lugging my previous weight will be a relief.

Congratulations! It is soooo liberating to have that weight finally come off and be able to do things like you never realized.

I agree with Liz, the menu threads are really helpful. I started collecting healthy eating magazines and tearing out and filing them. I make it my goal to try one new one per week. I also learned how to crochet to keep my hands busy when I become bored, that helps a lot! Congratulations and great job!
