Well, it has been a long road, but it has flown by. I am 7 days from my VSG. you have all been a wealth of knowledge and I look forward to being a more active part of this forum. I just hope my experiences will help.

one question. What ONE ITEM is a must have at the hospital? whether you brought it or wish you had.

thank you all.

Chapstick. It can be very dry.

You don't need to take much of anything - everything you need will be provided by the hospital.

Thanks!!

I really don't like hospitals to begin with so I hope I don't have to stay too long :)

I know you asked for one item but I was glad I had a book, an extra long phone charger cord, and headphones. Also I didn't love the Crystal Light and protein shake flavors so I brought my own Mio and wish I brought a couple of my favorite shakes.

A bathrobe. It's literally the only thing I brought I was glad to have. I put it over my hospital gown and it kept everything covered while I was walking the halls, but allowed me to stay in the gown that worked with my IV, etc.

Nothing else mattered to me, but I was really sick for 2 days. I didn't use my phone, computer or even the TV in the room. I was either drinking, trying to sip protein, vomiting or sleeping. That's not common though so you might want something to entertain yourself!

If you wear glasses make sure you know where they are. Mine went missing and well not having them was not fun. Haha.

Chap stick was the best thing to have. And a toothbru****hink I brushed my teeth every time I used the bathroom, helped with the dryness and what seems like continual bad breath.

I wore loose fitting shorts and shirt to the hospital, and wore them home. I used my phone, charger, and reading glasses. I didn't need anything else.

One item? Extra long phone charger to be able to plug in while in the bed without having restriction

My 2nd item would be my laptop/headphones that had a bunch of movies loaded up on.. when I wasnt walking I'd watch some of a movie until I fell asleep/walked again/got poked by nurses. Helped to pass the time.
