Hey I got sleeved one day before you! I burped like a maniac the first couple days after every single sip but now that I am 4 days out, I can take bigger sips with no burping. I sleep with a wedge behind my back because I get heartburn :/. So that's not fun.

As for less sweet, strained soup with unflavored Unjury. That's what I'm gonna do. I bought Cream of everything and even some beer cheddar soup. Gonna strain the crap out of it and then add my protein. I got some lobster bisque from Panera that I'm excited to try.

I need some support too because I go through periods where I am like, what the hell did I do to myself? I am only 22 and now I have to live with this the rest of my life. I obviously know that it was what was best for me. And I will thank myself later. But it's hard right now, sitting and recovering and being bored.

Let me know how you're doing, we got this.

A

hi little a, yes, we've got this! you are so lucky to have made this decision when you did. i am 42 and by no means old, but if i could have shed this weight years ago, well, that would have been amazing. so good for you.

let's keep in touch. we are so close on our VSG dates. it'll be fun to see each other's progress!

Happy Saturday to you too! Welcome to the "Loser's Bench." Burping is common after VSG. I continue to burp sometimes after I eat, drink, etc. I am used to it now and doesn't really bother me.

I couldn't tolerate anything sweet after my VSG. The unjury chicken soup was my mainstay after my VSG. Savory hit the spot. Hoping that will hit the spot for you too.

Drinking with a straw was NOT advised by my surgical team after VSG. Drinking with a straw can cause more gas and air. Check with your team.

hi there! good to know about the burping. realllly trying to keep dehydration away and feeling so bloated isn't helping. i agree about the straw, that's a NO GO from my practice, for at least 3 months.

Many programs have nonsensical rules - like the straw thing. For some people they do increase air swallowed but for others they do the exact opposite and are a life saver.

It's like my practice's rule that says you can never in your whole life ever again chew gum. Ever. Period. The End.

I mean, do they think it takes 7 years to exit your stomach if you swallow it? Yeah no.
