I had to have my lap band removed because it caused me so many problems. I had it removed and I am scheduled for a VSG on June 27th. I am super excited but this liquid diet is killing me!!!!

Just try to remember that a lot of us have been through exactly what you're going through. Yes, it's hard, but stay the course. In a few days you'll be on the other side, and you'll be super glad you made it.

The thing that got me through the liquid diet was a good, rich beef broth. If chicken is your preference, have that. I had a lot during my 2-week pre-surgery liquid diet. Also SF popsicles and SF jello, boy did I eat a lot of SF jello!! But it helps to chew it, at least it did for me.

It's so close, hang in there, you can do it! Won't be long and you'll be joining us all on the Loser's Bench!!

I am having my band removed and revised to VSG on the 28th so you are definitely not alone. The liquid diet is hard. I was supposed to have my surgery on Monday but the doc had to pu**** back to Wednesday. That means 2 extra days of liquids for me. Last night i was in tears be cause because I was so hungry. Nothing worked. Popsicle, lots of water, jello, broth. I just felt so empty. I feel better this morning and know it will be worth it. Keep your head up. We've got this.~~Amy

The liquid diet sucks and that's all there is to say about that! But the first 3-4 days are the worst and then it gets better and then you just sort of get really, really bored with it. I totally had "liquid fatigue" by the time I had finished my 24 total days (between pre and post-op).

But.. keep your eyes on the prize. Stay focused on why you're doing this. Keep busy. Use this time wisely to start working on your brain as the surgery only operates on your stomach.

You can do it.

I had my band removed in Feb and sleeve in May...total of 4 weeks on liquids was no fun! In addition to the other recommendations, can you have soup? I had tomato soup every day and thought it was the best thing! Trader joe's tomato soup even has 5gm of protein for a cup!

You will get through this!

Three days post-op. I am on liquids and it kind of sucks but at the same time I'm not hungry. Some people say that they gain weight right after surgery. I guess I was blessed because I went in at 246 at the time of surgery to 238 three days after surgery. Yayyy!
