Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Thursday, 7/13/2017

I have a friend who is vacationing in the state and is going to stop by today on her way north. It'll be great to see her. So lots of tidying to do today.

Also kind of a nice NSV... I bought a sweatshirt in town yesterday. I picked an XL thinking if it didn't fit now, it might soon. When I got home I tried it on and I'm swimming in it. My brain clearly hasn't caught up with reality!

B - coffee and yogurt

L - protein shake

D - hmm. Not sure yet. Some kind of protein and asparagus I think

S - leftover fajitas (ended up going out to dinner last night)

Yay for friends visiting! It was hard for me, post-op, to accept that I had to try on clothes before buying them. I'd always hated doing that... and then there was the time that I went to Target to buy shirts and grabbed a S for the first one and then Ms for the next 10 and had to go back and return all the Ms for Ss. (I grabbed the Ms on autopilot because brain was in denial that I could really be wearing Ss.)

I had a great day yesterday helping my BFF clean out her daughter's apartment. I worked on the kitchen some more and while I don't feel I overdid it in terms of my surgery, holy hell my quads and hamstrings are deconditioned!! It feels great to have gotten the activity and social time.

Today, though, is all school all day. I need to finish my reading for the week, get my discussion post up, and then I need to finalize my paper topic and locate at least 5 sources. I think my topic will be "Promoting Exercise Adherence in Older Adults."

1: protein shake
2: probably another protein shake (I feel like I should be tired of having two shakes a day, but I'm not. I don't have much interest in eating still, so drinking a protein shake at least ensures that I'm getting in the required protein for reconstruction.)
3: it's leftover night - I'm thinking I'll have leftover roast beef hash with a fried egg on top!

exercise: FOUR MORE DAYS, not that I'm counting or anything..

Ooh. This reminds me that I also have asparagus that I had meant to use last night but forgot about. So when I'm planning meals for the rest of the week I should make sure to plan for that. Maybe I'll do some sort of meat + asparagus stir fry tomorrow night!

I decided to check out my condo's fitness room again last night to see if they had updated it. While they did get some new equipment in, the elliptical is still old and rusty and very wobbly. I did manage to use it for 30 mins but one of the peddles almost made my ankle turn a few times because of it being wobbly. This might be the original elliptical they purchased when they built the place in 1997. Maybe once they get that replaced, I can drop my gym membership. For now I'll stick to swimming and walking.

I'm feeling a little psychologically better today. I pushed myself to get my 102g of protein and got 763 cals. Still low on hydration. Got on the scale this morning and was 170.3, so I think I may be able to maintain this week. Todays goal is to get to the gym for cardio for at least 30" and hoping for 45-60. I don't want to be over zealous. I have much healthy fare in the fridge, and no unhealthy carbs. My goal is to re-up my hydration today.

AM: Espresso, Van PP, SF Torani Peppermint syrup

Br: Last of Salsa Chicken with Mango Salsa & plain greek yogurt

S: Red Grapefruit

D: Chicken breast and Chicken Cilantro Wontons

E: Treadmill & Elliptical

Hello all. Feeling overwhelmed with the move. It will be over at some point. Last night I ended up eating a dinner consisting of yogurt, frozen spinach, and canned black beans. Not the best choice, but it sure could have been worse. No time to cook right now and trying to eat what I have on hand.

It's 60 degrees. In July. I'm not sure I can say much more than that this morning (afternoon?) because I'm so pissed about that. Give me an f-ing break.

Exactly what the BFF said, and she shares your weather ;) This early after WLS I probably would trade. I am wearing a jacket, drinking coffee and using my space heater and still cold!
