Hello-

I've posted before that I had elevated liver enzymes a month post op. Between my surgeon and hepatologist, they don't feel this is weight loss/mild fatty liver related. I've been through every test (ultrasound, MRI, biopsy, echo, labs many times, etc) and the biopsy said either autoimmune hepatitis or drug induced. Based on this, i decided to get labs one more time on monday. If they see a drop, it is probable this is drug related (nausea meds or PPI). If there isn't a drop, he wants to start high dose steroids to treat for autoimmune hepatitis (AIH). After steroids drop the number back to normal, i might have to spend the rest of my life on immunosuppressive drugs. A month ago when this started, i thought i was getting a death sentence. Now i'm more positive that I can handle whatever situation Monday throws at me but of course i still have some hope this is drug related. Please send any positive thoughts or prayers my way that Monday shows a drop and we can assume this is drug versus a chronic disease brought on my weight loss surgery. I will be very appreciative! I have a new appreciation for what patients go through especially the waiting process cause it can be agonizing!

Have a great weekend!

Melissa
