So after months of setbacks and countless calls to PCP, OBGYN, Pulmonologist, Gastroenterologist and surgeons office, my surgeons office was finally able to send my paperwork to the insurance for approval. Hopefully I get the okay so that I can get this life changing opportunity. Cross your fingers and eyes for me!! :)

I know the feeling. I went thru about 7 months of testing and classes and finally it was sent to my insurance. Thankfully they approved in less than a week. I start my pre op diet in the morning (3 weeks ) and my surgery will be on 9/15

Fingers crossed!

Tip: I'd call your insurance company in 7-10 days just to confirm receipt of the paperwork. I had a fax snafu where not all pages were received and I got rejected. Also, do you have copies of what was submitted for your records? You shouldn't need them, but it's a good idea to have on hand in case you need to reference it for your insurance. I had a case worker from my insurance call and I wanted to make sure I had all of the information my doctor submitted in front of me just so we were all on the same page.

Good luck!
