Question, I had my VSG 8-22-17 and am 16 days out from surgery.

I have not lost a single pound in over 5 days

to the vets out there, is this common?

Very very common. If you use the search feature you'll see that we have all posted about this at some point! You will get through it.

You will not lose weight every single day.

As you get further out from surgery, you may not lose weight every week.

Surgery is not magic. We did not gain our weight in a day, we will not lose it in a day.

We used to call it the "dreaded three-week stall." It is very common to stall in the third week.

I was obsessive in watching the scale and tracking every pound lost, and I caused myself a lot of frustration. And when it was all said and done, I lost 225 pounds in about 18 months -- which I think is pretty amazing. Looking back, I see that all that frustration was unproductive.

So, I'd recommend trusting the process. If you are eating on plan and consuming less calories than your body burns, the weight will come off. It won't show on the scale every day, but the fat is still being burned and you are getting healthier.

best of luck in your weight loss journey.

Carol

Yes common. My stall in Month one lasted 3 1/2 weeks. I don't wish that on anyone. frustrating, but you get past it.

I was advised to weigh myself 1x a week during weight loss and daily in maintenance - and i think it is good advice.
