Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Tuesday 9/12/17

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I had a fantastic dinner with a friend who was in town from work. We have been friends for years and kind of ride the health food wave up and down together. Last night we had the most tastiest low guilt dinner ever. We shared two appetizers: caprese salad & roasted artichokes and then shared a dinner trout w/ roasted carrots & brussel sprouts. I couldn't believe how fantastic everything was and I didn't feel guilty about it at all. Veggies can be super yummy!

I haven't been on here in a little while, but I'm chugging along well. I'm back to a pretty happy weight - I bounced up a little but lost 8 lbs in the last month or so. Life is constant and making to sure to clamp things down before they get out of hand is super helpful. I'm working on something that could impact my weight dramatically (in a wonderful way), so trying to get closer to my low weight so the impact to my body isn't as great.

QOTD: I food prep but not religiously. Usually just the night before I'll make my lunch and a snack. Sometimes I spend an hour or two on the weekends making some veggies for the week. I find if I prep too much, I get bored of the same foods and things go to waste.

Food Today:

B: protein shake & coffee

L: salad w/ chicken & protein bar

S: yogurt w/ berries + protein shake

D: turkey meatballs w/ some pasta & asparagus

S: tbd

e: crossfit

Morning all,

QOTD: I tend to keep a cheese string or two, or, beef jerky stick in my purse because the time span from "I'm not hungry" to "I'm starving, dizzy and weak" seems to be very short and unexpected so I keep a snack on me at all times. At home, I keep roasted chicken in 2oz containers in freezer as a quick and easy add-in. The rest seems to be fresh salads/veggies, cheese, luncheon meats so not much prep required.

Hope to get out for a walk today but it's looking a bit dreary so might be a treadmill day. Off track a bit since Vegas so working to get mindset back in line. All in all, things are good. Visiting a friend today who's had a knee replacement and needs a ride. She in early 50s but been heavy as long as I've known her and is undergoing getting both knees done. Recovery going well but it's a tough thing to go through at such a young age, since they only last around 15 yrs.

B: Coffee with cream/sugar, HB egg, deli roast beef

S: homemade protein shake (cashew milk, protein powder, plain greek yogurt, strawberries, flax meal)

L: greek salad

S: likely coffee products but also doing late lunch/early supper with friend so some sort of low carb food will be involved like salad, chicken wings etc. She's treating and gets to pick the restaurant.

D: see above

E: 30 mins walking

L: aiming for 2L water and other assorted caffeinated and non-caffeinated beverages.

Have a great day!

The sun is trying to peek out of the clouds and the humidity is back..I was living the fall temps last week.

QOTD I don't usually pack food/snacks unless I know I won't be able to get anything, but I do pack water and drinks like a hoarder lol. I have an assortment of water bottles and cooler bags and almost always leave the house with at least 64 oz of some combo of protein shake/water/SF drinks. I can function for awhile without food, but without hydration my BP tends to run low and I get dizzy spells.

B premier caramel in decaf coffee

L vegetable beef soup

D chicken from the chicken and dumplings I have in the crock pot for the guys

Water and vitamins good. Walking.

Good afternoon,

I feel better today.

Qotd only time I pack food is when I'm traveling which isn't often. I usually eat before I go anywhere so I don't have to worry about food. Now I can basically find food if I need it. If I'm going to be gone long then I take my water bottle with me.

B ham and cheese omelette and string cheese

L tuna, cottage cheese and cantaloupe

S sf French vanilla ice coffee

D sirloin pork chop, green beans and cantaloupe

Have a good day

Good afternoon.

**rambling begins - some may wish to skip

I haven't posted for a couple days. Food has been wishy-washy. All the family that can come will be here as of 4pm when my Grammy's last remaining sib, a brother, and his daughter arrive. After that, we see. She still has her sense of humor intact, which has been such a blessing. They had us start her on morphine for comfort care, and it immediately effected her mentation, so we called the doc and got her percocet increased instead, as it doesn't make her loopy and helps her pain longer. It's better that she keeps her mind as long as she can. I've been doing most of the nursing type stuff. At least when I am available to. My mom & aunts are squeamish about daily functions. So far, this has been a fairly 'normal' process.

I've been able to shift any desire for emotional eating to car searching. I had been looking at getting a challenger to play with, but realized that I could get an original muscle car for less and not have to deal with computerized crap, so I've been seeking for something in that catagory. It keeps my mind occupied and the emotions a little compressed. Yesterday I went back to the gym, and that helped quite a bit. It also helped decrease the anxiety I was manifesting by obsessing about old cars.

**end rambling

This afternoon I go to see an Eating Disorder specialist, finally. I found her on psychology today. I read her credentials and it was like a click. I hope it will be as good as my intuition.

QOTD: No, and not as much as I should.

AM: SF White Mocha x 2 (12 shots of espresso - I love my new machine!)

L: leftover salmon

S: Vanilla Premier Protein

D: Unknown - maybe with family

E: not today- headless chicken maneuver

Water & Vites - gotta catch up on water

Have a blessed day everyone

Thinking of you and your family Rachel. Its lovely that your Grammy is surrounded with so much love and her family.

Good luck with the car hunting and be kind to yourself. Sounds like you have a heavy load at present
