Multivitamins!

I am having the worst luck with multivitamins! I have tried the Flintstones chewables, the generic brand, Centrum Flavor Bursts chewable and Centrum Woman's Multivitamin.

The Flintstones and Centrum pill made me gag or throw up because of the taste, texture and/or smell. The Flavor bursts made me very nauseous.

I'm getting irritated with spending so much money on vitamins that I can not tolerate so I am seeking some advice from you lovely people.

(Please do not be rude and tell me to "suck it up" or "deal with it" because if I can't tolerate taking a vitamin then it's pretty hard to take it and be consistent with it.)

I know my body needs these and I am truly struggling with it.

I'm interested in hearing other people's reply, since I haven't really figured vitamins out myself yet...but I will say there is no reason for you to be using chewables instead of pills. I think most people get something like centrum adult and take 2 pills per day. For a while I was using a one a day bariatric vitamin from ProCare Health and it was nice to only have to take one pill.

The particular issue I've battled with is that if it's not a tasty chewable, I won't take it regularly. And if it is a tasty chewable, it sets off my inner carb monster and makes staying on plan harder.

My doctor and her team said that was one of the most recommended vitamins to take and whenever I mention this kind or that they shut them down. I tried to Centrum Multivitamin Woman's that you swallow and it makes me sick to my stomach.

Are you taking them with food? I have to take my multi with food or else it makes me feel pukey.

Put a timer on your phone for the same time every morning or night, and take your pills when it goes off! That's how I got in the habit long ago.

I've tried that and it didn't help. I've had a hard time remembering to take pills ever since I can remember.

One of the things that I've found useful is a pill container that has daily pop-out things. This is the one I'm currently happy about - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0053RQJQE/

I take it with me everywhere, so I remember to take pills when I eat.

Sadly, because of the calcium requirements, there is no way we can get away with only one pill a day.

I use the Celebrate Soft Chews. You can get a sample pack from them for $9.95 (which they will take off your first order as well). I was able to try all the flavors before buying a quantity of any of them. After each one, I would mark in the brochure listing Yuck, Good or just OK. I found they are cheaper directly from the site.

I also tried the Bariatric Advantage (Good, but expensive) and Barimelts (cheaper, but to me, they tasted like chalk).

Hope this helps...

Diane

You can do the same with the bariatric fusion brand, which is what I use. Some flavors were terrible, but I have a couple I quite like now.
