Morning! Night #2 in the hotel. I'm sleeping remarkably well, which is strange because I rarely do in hotels. This course I'm taking is no joke. Supposedly, yesterday was the slow day so today ought to be interesting. On top of that, I have homework for my class at home, so I've been pretty busy in my free hours! The smoked meat is

QOTD: Do you like to fly? I will be heading to Philly the week after next and that one I will be flying. My father is a private pilot and I went up in his 1940's Piper Cub starting when I was 3-years old. He has a 2 seater KitFox now that I also go up in and one of my daughters started going with him at 3, as well. I didn't fly commercially under I was 25 and I actually don't love it. I'm an anxious flyer!

Good morning! I'm glad your class is going well. I'm getting cranky at work in my last days. When people say BS things I'm calling them out on it. It is kind of freeing...

QOTD: I like to travel but not necessarily to fly. I remember being terrified in my early days of flying and when I once flew in a 4 seater because I am petrified of heights. But now flying is routine (though I would still not want to be in a 4 seater). I just don't like sitting still for long periods or adding time if I have to change flights. Speaking of which I need to go check the flights for our round trip back home for Christmas from Florida. I'm obviously looking for the best cost/time trade offs.

1.5 years post-op (maintenance). 17 work days to retirement (11/13).

B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese and ham

L: roast turkey (or ham) and cheese

D: Halibut

S: Yogurt, cheese sticks

Good morning. Teddy was up half the night and I'm exhausted. He's never been a great sleeper, but he's almost 2 and I thought it would be better by now. I've got a late church interview, so I have some time after work (might stop at IKEA) and then won't be home until close to ten. It will likely be an extra cup of coffee kind of day.

QOTD - I enjoy flying. I didn't take my first trip on a plane until I was 20. I like the feeling that you get at take-off, and I love looking at the clouds and ground below. The only problem with having the window seat is that I'm a frequent bathroom user, and being blocked in by someone I don't know makes me a little anxious.

B - latte, cottage cheese

L - ham and cheese roll ups (these were great broiled in the work toaster oven yesterday)

S - protein shake, roasted veggies

D - 1/2 protein bar

E - no time, but will make sure I hit 10k steps

water and vitamins on track

Good morning all. I haven't been posting much, but I check in every weekday to see how all are doing and to get some silent support. Work is absolutely crazy with my new job responsibilities. I've been putting in 12 hr days, five days a week for the last few months, so I haven't had much time to post.

I feel like I would be remiss if I didn't post on my surgiversary. One year ago today I was sitting in Early Morning Admissions at the hospital... full of anxiety, terror, shame, and hope. One year later, life is completely different. I'm so happy that I made the choice in 2016 to take my life back. Life is better in every way. Yes, there are still problems to be faced, but nothing is as hard as facing those problems as a morbidly obese person.

I thought I would be at goal by now. I'm not, but I'm so close. I know I will get there. Maybe by the end of the year?

QOTD: I like flying if it's first class. But it's mostly just a means to an end. I love visiting new places -- flying is just part of it.

B: yogurt and coffee

L: turkey tacos with lettuce wraps

D: Real Good pizza

S: jerky
