I'm needing some help with exercising. I was getting up at 4am an doing an hour of exercise. I did it for 6 months stright. Now I'm having trouble getting up and doing them at all. Some days are better then others, but I just can't make myself do them....

how about ease back in . . . .15mins for a week or two, 30 mins for two or three weeks, then 45 mins for two or three weeks and BAM . . . try for your original hour. i am the worse person to ask about exercise, as i never did anything formal since i know me . . . and this older woman (me)never did it. . . . so why now? but, most of my friends do and they don't feel like the day's begun until they've exercised.

i doubt this is great help or motivation, but that can only come from you. sending you good thoughts and go slow or fast or whatever will bring you joy.

Maybe you need to shake up your routine by changing what you're doing for exercise or the time at which you're doing it? Six months straight of the same thing is bound to get old!

I am only just now getting back into exercise. I am looking forward to the time when it's not as hard. I guess I would ask myself why I stopped and what don't I like about it. I find having a goal in my exercise real important. Not just exercising to just exercise. Example would be, training for a 5k race. Training to be able to go on a special hike which might have been to difficult before. Train to reach a specific strength. Whatever it is that is different and might motivate you. Change things up from what you have been doing.

I definitely recommend changing your routine up. Try different exercises. Try different times of day. Find something that you feel motivated to do!

Agree with others about cross-training. I walk some go to yoga class 2 days a week, and aquarobics class 3 days a week. It's a WHOLE lot more fun that getting up every morning the first year post-op and walking.

Also, finding classes / trainers / teachers who lead great classes is a true godsend. You have to find the right teachers, but when you do they're such precious resources.

Very best to you!

Excuse the typos in my comment above, but for some reason I can't edit that comment. Odd, since I post and edit my comments in other forums and groups here.

What's your eating been like and have you been taking all your vitamins. I know when I forget to take something I can tell right away by the loss of energy. Also have you been getting to bed early enough to support that 4 am morning routine? Maybe you need more rest?

If you fall down you just have to get back up.
