I am exhausted after driving 9 hours yesterday to our Florida condo, then only sleeping for about 3. I had a hard time falling asleep so ended up cleaning the main room of the condo in the middle of the night (went back to bed around 4). I am loving my coffee in my mermaid cup this morning!

QOTD: What are you most grateful for on this Thanksgiving Day? I am grateful for all my children even though we will be having Thanksgiving in different locations (we will be back home with them at Christmas).

1 year, 8 months post-op, maintenance:

B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese, and Canadian bacon

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: Turkey and bites of many other things

I'm so sorry for your families loss. I lost my eldest daughter almost 13 years ago and we miss her most at holidays.

YAY, I get to participate!

Driving 6 hours to California today to do the yearly family and in-laws trip -- in-laws first this year. Since we only see these people once a year, and last year I had surgery just after Thanksgiving Day, I'm expecting a chorus of "You look great!" and "You've lost so much weight!" and "What happened to you, are you dying?" so I will pretty much be in absolute Relative Hell today. Oh, and I get to be transparently paraded around to a particular in-law who would probably benefit immensely from WLS, and get asked far too many probing, deeply personal questions by people who don't know me well enough, and who shouldn't be asking them.

Then it's off tomorrow to visit my family, who hasn't seen me since the early part of the year, and be judged and told that I "look unhealthy and should stop losing weight" or "eat a sandwich" and "you're not you anymore".

Sooooo... two days of hell in CA until I can retreat back to my real life in AZ.

B: 4 oz. cottage cheese

L: hamburger patty or wrap fillings (depends what's open on the drive...)

S: protein shake, nuts

D: whatever I can stomach at the in-laws

E: walk after dinner

No reason to be sorry. Once you realize how certain people work, you can anticipate their behavior, accept that it's going to happen, and just let it wash right off your back.

If you know someone is going to be a jerk, it's not a surprise, and it doesn't have the power to hurt you.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Wishing everyone a sensible, fun, happy day. Courage to those who might struggle with food. Peace to those who have to deal with unhappy family. Comfort to those who don't have family and joy to those who do. May everyone get a bit of what they really need and want today.

QOTD: I am thankful for my family (husband and mother) who are my cheerleaders and pillars of support.

M1: 1 oz Eggbeaters and FF Turkey slice

M2: 1 oz Venison

M3: 1 oz Chicken

M4 & M5: Smidge of turkey, ham, butternut squash, gravy and stuffing and anything else that looks good.

S: Only if the numbers don't go out the window.

E: Prepping for Thanksgiving, cutting, chopping, stirring, cooking. More stretching and lifting at the shop tonight (yes, we are not done yet and are going back this evening).

Water and vits on track.
