Hi again! It really helps to write so I'd like to share my results being one week on a low-carb/keto diet. I have lost 12.5lbs in a week and today it's my first day of protein-diet or liquid diet. My doc asked me to drink the protein-shake twice a day (morning and evening), drink alot of water and eat one healthy meal for lunch. So in 10 days I try doing that!

So in a week of low-carb I lost 12.5lbs and lost 3cm from chest ( 1.18 inches i think), 5cm (2 inches) from the waist. I'm amazed how much motivation this surgery has put into me. I don't remember when was the last time I could follow eating instructions this well. im very happy.

Great job, Reina! I'm guessing your surgery date is written in European style, so that you are having surgery on December 5, 2017? A little over a week, you must be excited! The liquid/protein diet is hard, but hang in there, you can do it. Nearly all of us had to do some form of liquid diet before surgery, so we understand how hard it is. Soon we will be welcoming you to the Loser's Bench!

Thanks, Cathy! Yes, it's in European style but I don't know where to change it. When I made an account I had to try 3 different styles to fill my surgery date in, but maybe it doesn't allow surgeries in future? I'm not sure hehe!

It's already a little hard. Normally I don't feel hunger after my breakfast this fast, now I already want to dig in to my lunch quite badly. But I have to remember it's for a good cause! I can and I will do this!!

Good luck, Reina! That is is exciting for sure! I wish I had surgery in the winter...I had mine in the summer and was walking around with a down coat on July 4th, lol. WLS is weird.

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

Thank you everyone!

Donna, hehe! I'm quite happy with the date of my surgery because I will be thinner for the summer it will be 6 months in June. I actually don't know if I'm happy or sad that I can't eat through the Christmas, on one hand I don't gain the holiday weight but on the other hand there's so much goooood and delicious cookery. Well, anyway, I can do this.

I felt like the 1st day of my low-carb diet was quite hard for me not to eat at evening/night, but yesterday, after the first day of my protein-diet (2 protein shakes a day + 1 healthy meal at lunch) I felt soooo hungry at the evening. Or I was just craving and it didn't help that my mother in law came to visit and brought her own made warm pastries. But I managed well, thankfully. Hopefully it will be easy after the surgery on Christmas and New Years Eve.. I hope. Most difficult will be to explain everyone why I'm not drinking alcohol anymore. I've been avoiding all my friends B-day parties because of that. Most of my friends do not know about my surgery anyway. I'm tired of explaining to them that it is NOT "a easy way out" and I have to live with it for the rest of my life.

I take a traveler with me to parties and etc. They offer me a drink and I let them know I already have one. Hee hee.

My surgery is scheduled for Dec 7th. We will get through this season. You are realising how strong you are.

I am very happy for you Rein.

I understand the motivation part. You can do this and you are doing it. 12 pounds is Great and be proud of yourself.

I have found on the Opti Fast it does slow down but you keep missing which is the goal. Welcome to the club and I am happy to have you here!
