Hi Newbie, I am also a newbie. I had my surgery on Monday, the 27th, so I am day 5. I

am going to weigh weekly, so not until Monday. The first three days were quite painful, but much

better today. I have not been hungry at all, but am drinking my protein shakes every day. It really

helps because I was having a really bad multi day migraine, but the protein stopped it. Thank goodness.

I'm looking forward to watching your journey, Good Luck!!!

Hi Greg1760. I had my surgery the same day as you, and am also feeling much better now. I also had a killer headache for a couple days. TIt's gone now but I was wondering if any of you others had experienced this. Gwen? Or maybe one of our nurses could answer this. Could it have been from the anesthesia?

I'm happy you are doing well and getting your protein in.It,(and the fluids) are our full time job right now, but I'm actually finding it easier than I thought it would be and am thrilled at not being hungry.

Hugs,

Sandy

What was your pre-op eating like? Were you still eating carbs and drinking caffeinated drinks? Oftentimes a headache post-op is due to carb or caffeine withdrawal.

I was on two weeks of full liquid diet prior to surgery. Was not eating any carbs or solid food.

I was still using regular tea with caffeine before surgery. Several large (20oz) latte mugs per day. That may be it. I now only have decaf tea.

Yeah, that wouldn't surprise me - that it's caffeine withdrawal!
