Morning VSGers! We're in the beginnings of a snow storm. We're supposed to get 8-12" and school finally just called a 2-hour delay. Our school tends to have a hero complex about using their snow days compared to the other districts around us. The unwritten rule is that they always have one called by 6am if it's going to happen and it was 5:58am when they posted. Talk about waiting until the last minute to decide! It's going to be a messy drive into work, I'm sure.

QOTD: How often do you get your hair cut/dyed? I've always been awful about it. I get it cut maybe 1-2 times per year and normally one of those includes changing up my color somehow. I had it done over the summer though and I'm considering going in again. I've been waiting for the hair loss to truly stop before I make any effort on it.

Good morning from Cape Cod, where we arrived around 4 yesterday. I'd like to see a little snow before Christmas but it doesn't snow much here (even if it does in central or western Massachusetts). I need to get the Christmas decorations up today and tomorrow!

QOTD: I used to have my hair cut every 4 weeks and highlighted every 8. I changed that about a year ago to having a cut and highlight every time, but every 6 weeks (sometimes a bit longer). I have short hair so there isn't as much leeway on cut timing. I just realized that I will have to find someone in Florida to do it this winter as my last cut/highlight here will be on 1/4, but we won't be back for more than a day until 4/20.

1 year, 9 months post-op, maintenance:

B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese, and Canadian bacon

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: chicken and veggies

S: yogurt

Happy Tuesday VSG'ers! Yesterday I went to Burlington (they have such cool stuff!) and bought a set of 2 lb Velcro wrist weights. I want to start strength training on my upper body. My lower body doesn't need it. Me... exercise... wow! And on purpose... double wow!

QOTD: I'm terrible about going to get my hair done. I get a salon cut every couple of years, but I cut the top myself every 6 weeks and shape the back every 6 months or so. I'm allergic to hair dye. I found that out the hard way when I used an off the shelf dye (for the first time ever) about 2 years ago and ended up with blisters. It was ugly. I can tolerate highlights, but only with a cap. I had my hair highlighted before the surgery as I knew that losing hair was a possibility so I didn't want to throw dye into the mix. I'm glad I did as I'm beginning to lose hair.

M1: Turkey spam and eggs and coffee

M2: Italian faro salad and smoked turkey

M3: PP caramel shake

M4: Frozen Fage, protein powder and SF pistachio pudding

M5: Turkey and pork sausage taco style with ½ whole wheat wrap (had a not so good food day yesterday so today is a repeat of yesterday).

S: Hot tea, hot tea and more hot tea. Jerky or a protein snack... depends on what of the above gets eaten

E: Going to look up cardio videos on the internet today and see what I come up with.

Water (not so good yesterday) and vits on track

Good morning!

QOTD - I had a pixie cut for years, but one of the reasons I finally grew it out was because I'm really bad about getting trims on time. Of course, just as it got to a length I really like, I started to lose hair. It's not noticeable (at least not yet), but it was really hard to wash. I cut it short again a couple of weeks ago, and I'll keep it short until I have regrowth.

B - latte, cottage cheese

L - leftover crack slaw

S - protein shake

D - tacos (just meat for me)

E - leg day

Water and vitamins on track

Yuck snow! I'm glad I don't live farther north than I do.

I've got a follow-up with my surgeon today and I got dressed (including wound dressings and compression garment) ALL BY MYSELF this morning to make sure I could do it at my appointment. First time since my most recent surgery so I'm feeling super awesome about that :D

QOTD: Since I've been keeping my hair short, it's less forgiving once shagginess starts to set in, so I try to get it cut every other month. I'm currently contemplating trying to get an appointment between now and when I leave for vacation just so it'll be nice for vacation, but I'll probably procrastinate and put it off until January. I'm currently working on growing it out so there's not that much pull toward getting it cut. I tend to dye my hair once a month or so. Also something I should do between now and vacation!

1: protein shake
2: deli chicken + single serve guac container (unless I need to eat my emergency protein bar before I get home from my appointment)
3: leftover pulled pork hash! (It's a leftover night)

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: nope

It was a miserable 10-mile drive to work. I don't think I went over 40mph the whole way. Stopping/turning was super fun (not!).

I've been keeping an eye on the extended forecast between now and vacation and ARGH. I just hope we're all able to get there safely before getting snowed in.

It's supposed to be cold, wet, gross here today - yuck.

QOTD: for years I went every 5 weeks for a cut and about 4 times a year for a highlight. in the last few years, I grew out my hair some and realized it is alot less maintenance longer. So now I go about every 3 months for a cut and every 4 for a highlight. I have relatively curly hair so it grows out well.

B: protein shot

L: protein shot and maybe salad

D: chicken

The scale is creeping up with all the holiday fudge, cookies and crap around the office for which I have shown no self control. I need to get on track and stick to program. I'm not happy with myself today : /

E/L/V: will walk, maybe eliptical, good on vit/liquids

Morning All. Dry as a bone here in Phoenix and warmer than normal in the mid 70s all week. The Northern communities are praying for snow so the ski areas can open. They have had ZERO this year to date.

Eating may be a little crazy today since my boss is in town and we have all day meetings today and tomorrow. However, I did pack a lunch since I'm still on restricted eating until next Tuesday when I can add in raw veggies, nuts, beef, and pork. That should make eating out MUCH easier.

QOTD: I used to go get my hair done every 3 months but I have gone much blonder and now I am going every 6-8 weeks. Growing it out a tad and started adding in low lights last time so maybe I can back off a bit. So far at 7 weeks out I have not had any hair loss. I honestly don't remember when I had lapband if it happened or not.

B - Hardboiled egg

S1 - yogurt

L: turkey meat balls w/marinara and steamed broccoli

S2: unsure?

D: Shepherds pie with ground turkey and cauliflower mashed potatoes

Good morning! It's actually a pretty decent day in north Mississippi! It's hovering in the high 40s right now and we aren't supposed to get any precipitation, luckily.

QOTD: I typically go every two months and get the back bottom half of my head shaved, the top half and sides trimmed and deep conditioned, and a color. It's covered by my upper layer of hair at work, so I blow dry it to look professional. Then, I can pull it up when I leave and have a lovely breeze. I stick with a light auburn or honey blonde most of the time. I'll add some blue or purple in the summertime if I feel like it. I'm pretty lucky; my sister in law is a hairstylist and she trained at Paul Mitchell so I get some discounts.

I haven't touched it over the past few months because I knew I was having surgery sometime in December if I could get it arranged. I'll probably have her come cut it next week because shorter is easier to deal with. I don't think I'll shave it again until after my 6 months of possible hair loss has passed.

B: Premier CLEAR protein water and decaf coffee with splenda

L: 1 cup of chicken broth and a sugar free jello

D: 1 cup of chicken broth and sugar free popsicles

Snacks: As much clear liquid as I can drink (broth, protein water, crystal light, popsicles, etc.)
