Four Year Post Op Surgeon Appointment!

Hi all :)

This morning I woke up at 5:15, left my mom's place at 6am, and got to my 10:15 appointment at 9:45. The drive should have taken 3 hours, but traffic sucked due to weather. I'm surprised my blood pressure wasn't worse than it was!

I was a bit nervous going to this appointment. I haven't weighed myself since 3/11 and I've probably eaten more carbs in the last week than in the prior four years combined. So I had no idea what I was going to weigh. Happily enough, my weight is the same as it was when I went to see the surgeon in October, so that was a HUGE relief. He doesn't need to know that it's been lower in the intervening months ;) Super curious to see what the scale will say at home tomorrow morning.

He is super pleased with my success. We chatted for a bit, he ordered lab work for me, asked if there was anything I wanted him to order for me (which I love). Then he asked me if I'd consider speaking at the conferences he runs. He said he runs one for nurses and then one for the general public each year and he'd love to have me speak about my experience as a bariatric patient. That made me feel super awesome, so of course I said yes! We'll see what happens.
