Good morning, all! It's Thursday! I'm going to go out for run #2 after I post this. I haven't actually told my partners about going back to running yet. I didn't want to feel any sort of pressure about it. Looking forward to disclosure this weekend!

I managed to finish up my rough draft of my GERO paper yesterday. Today I'll get my HMGT paper to rough draft status. I've also got lunch scheduled with my bereavement group, so that will be lovely.

And, in strange body news, I believe that my body's 41st birthday present is perimenopause. Which I'm very excited about. I've been looking forward to menopause since my period started in third grade!

QOTD: What TV show or movie do you refuse to watch? Why? (I'll answer in a comment.)

1: protein shake
2: gyro meat, tzatziki - YUM
3: Buttermilk-Brined Chicken with Za'atar, Butter-Tossed Radishes with Za'atar

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: running and stretching

How about you?

Good morning everyone! Rough month, but I am back. Long story, but I have battled my demons and they are back in chains, not too much damage done, I still lost 10 last month, but not before gaining 6. But I took it back to basics (pure dense protein, little to no carbs, vegs only after protein) and I was able to get back on track.

QOTD: I will no****ch reality shows such as Jerry Springer and such. I refuse to watch people embarrass themselves and march their dysfunctions around for all to see. It literally makes me ill.

Meal 1: Coffee, miralax, PP protein shake

Meal 2: 3 oz ham

Meal 3: LO clam, shrimp, crab chowder

Meal 4: Gouda and pear chicken sausage with shirataki noodles and no cal white sauce (walden farms)

Snack: protein drink if needed.

Water and Vits: On track

I am so glad that you're back! I think it's important to realize that we all have demons (which is why we allowed ourselves to get so unhealthy in the first place!) That's why I make it my priority to stay up to date on checkups and I go regularly to my therapist. Sometimes, we need a reality check or a point of view OUTSIDE of ourselves to help us.

I was gone for about two weeks when we went on vacation, and I did not eat according to my plan. It was devastating to think that I may have went through all this to only get down to 293, which is nowhere near my goal. I'm back on track, losing again, and being "good!" I beat myself up for several days (I even had ice cream and chips in the same day when we were in Hot Springs) and then I realized that that was NOT helpful. Getting back to plan IS what helps.

YOU GOT THIS!!!!!!!!

I think of this site as a phrase that I used to hear a lot in AA at the end of meetings. (My mother is an alcoholic and I would attend with her once a week.)

"Keep coming back, cuz it works REAL GOOD."

Please reach out if you can when those demons are active. We all have some form of them and we need each other for support to fight them.

Thank you. I am going to try and change that habit of retreating into my shell when I'm struggling. It is soooo true that the surgery is purely physical and doesn't fix everything. We all still have a lot of brain work to do.

Good morning!

Trying to find my motivation today. I'm starting to worry that I might have an ulcer. I've had a dull, burning stomach pain for the past few days. I'm calling my PCP today and trying to get an appointment as quickly as I can. I also started taking Nexium a few days ago and stopped drinking coffee today which explains the lack of motivation right now! Hoping I'm wrong and it's something else. The bright side is I have zero appetite

QOTD- I avoid the evening news (we live in the greater Baltimore area so it's bad news usually) plus anything political as it triggers my anxiety

B- Protein shake

L- Mediterranean chicken skewers

D- leftover Easter ham
