Did anyone use New Direction products for the liquid pre-op diet? My surgeon sells them and the whole package is $228. Since I already have shakes I like, I thought about just getting the soups and maybe pudding. But the price is steep so I wanted to see if anyone had feedback first. Thanks!

I used the brand my bariatric office had, but they were way more than that. It was 3 shakes, 2 bars and 2 soups up until the last 3 days, then no bars. It was called "Optifast" and was a high protein regimine of 800 calories, plus the 64 oz of fluid. I want to say it was around $500 for two weeks.

I liked the soups a lot. The bars were tolerable, not tasty, and the protein shakes were not as good as Premier Protein shakes (which I use now in my coffee to keep my protein up). But everyone seems to have not only different instructions pre op, but different diets. So hopefully someone will chime in who has tasted the New Direction ones.

I did lose weight, and other than a slight nagging headache the first 3 days, it was not a problem to do.
