Since no one else has gotten this started today, I guess I will!

I'm feeling better today. My teeth seem to be adjusting to Invisalign, although if I hear one more comment that treats this as just a cosmetic/aesthetic thing, I'll scream. :P I actually managed to get my butt out of bed and out of the house to go to the local Parkrun with Lance. My body told me to stop after 1/2 mile out, so I did a mile total and feel good to be getting back to things. Finally.

My year anniversary of my first reconstructive surgery was Tuesday and I've probably done no more than five runs since then. I've got my next race (a half marathon) in September, so I need to get my butt in gear!

Q(s)OTD: Do mosquitoes love you? What's your ideal temp and humidity for being active outside? What part of your body sweats the most? (I'll reply in a comment.)

1: protein shake
2: skirt steak
3: Art is grilling chicken! Hopefully he'll get some boneless, skinless thighs to do for me, since I've never been a huge fan of chicken breasts post-VSG.

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: 1 mile of run/walking at Parkrun!

How about you?

QOTD: Mosquitoes LOVE me and I totally forgot bug spray today. Our parkrun is next to a river, so.. yeah, lots of buggies. If humidity wasn't an issue, I think high 60s/low 70s would be beautiful, but since humidity is an issue, high 50s/low 60s is better. Today it was something like mid-70s with 70-80% humidity. Not horrible, but definitely not ideal. My head is my biggest culprit for sweating and always has been. My brachioplasty removed most of my armpit sweat glands, but even before that it was always my head. (Apparently this is a female thing - women tend to sweat a lot from their heads.)

We are so alike for these questions! If there is a mosquito within a mile of me, he'll find me and snack on me. And in the last few years I've developed bad reactions to their bites. They blister. Ew. I don't go outside at sunrise or dusk in MI. My perfect temp is low to mid 70s and I HATE humidity with a passion. And my face sweats something awful when I'm hot or anxious. So if I'm hot and anxious at the same time, stand back!

Afternoon! It's been a busy day already with a 1.3 mile run this morning and then an hour of yoga. We decided to go for a long drive in the Jeep after yoga. I need to get the grocery store at some point today. I woke up with a nasty headache. This happens to me about twice per year and it's the closest thing I can equate to a migraine. The headache isn't terribly bad but I normally feel really sick/dizzy/off kilter. Running made it worse but I promised Aurora we'd go, so I went. I felt better after the Jeep ride in the cool breeze. My appetite is still pretty much non-existent though.

QOTD: I really like to work out when it's 45-65 degrees. Obviously, less humidity is better. I pretty much sweat all over but my hair will be drenched now that we live in NC, even if I run inside. With hot yoga, I was amazed to discover that even my knee caps sweat! I get bit an average amount of bugs, but Jon and Isis are both always eaten alive.

  • I try to avoid going where there's mosquitoes. But when I am around them, I make sure I have OFF! with me because they do seem to enjoy the taste of my blood.

  • Ideal temp and humidity is probably 70F to 75F with about 50% humidity.
  • Under my boobs!

With my doctor, the first 3 days post-surgery, we aren't concerned with the protein. But I have had some with my homemade bone broth and protein jello and protein water.

Starting on Monday (Days 4 thru 14) it will be full liquid and I'll be getting lots of protein then through the protein shakes. I hope I still like the ones I have.

That's good that you're getting protein - it's an important component of the healing process.

I am very sorry, Yvonne, that is a horrible thing to have happened to your friend and his family. I will keep him in my prayers and ask my good friend if she would as well. I'm sorry your good news of your new job had a little bit of a cloud over it with your friend's struggles, but I am glad you got the job. Congratulations Yvonne :)
