I highly suggest you get a hold of your surgical team and ask them about it. My paperwork was clear about NOT getting certain things such as a tattoo. You certainly cannot safely hide it from them, so I'd get a hold of them A.S.A.P., it may be OK or they may need to give you extra medication to prevent issues.

Since you've already gotten it, the only thing you CAN do is call your surgical team Monday morning and ask.

Just got a tattoo, like today? As long as you don't have an infection, I doubt it will matter. Just ask them.

a lot depends on where it is located.

on your ankle, prob not much of a problem.

On your chest , might be more of a problem.

On your /pelvis-hip, big problem, since they have to scrub you from below your breadts to your pubic area.

Pretty sure you won?t be wanting to be scrubbed on a fresh tatoo.

Call your surgeon ASAP Monday

Some things can depend on the regulations of tattoo parlors. In my state, you can't donate blood for a year after getting a tattoo here, because the health regulations are not as stringent as the Red Cross requires. If you got the tattoo in one of the adjoining states, you could donate right away.

Really, you need to check with your surgeon. This is not a roadblock, this is for your safety.
