I am hoping as I progress to different stages, I will be able to try some of these...hopefully I will get over this whole smelling thing that everything stinks including all my protein powders!

My sense of smell seems to be right there with yours...I was sleeved on 12.12. Everything stinks to me, even the foods I once loved to eat... ther protein powders I liked before surgery I can not drink because of the smell...thank GOD, I have found a ready to drink protein that doesnt smell bad. My husband has been sick and his home remedy i to cut up a whole clove of garlic in his soup and eat it, ITS EEKING out of his pores..then he put vicks on his chest I thought last night i was gona die, thankfully the sleep apnea machine kept out the smell...lolol
I was wondering the same thing, why the dramatic change with my nose?

I am only one day ahead of you, and walking still helps the gas..and I am getting over the what the hell I have done to myself phase, and mine is related mostly to PAIN.. I have had the worst muscle/gut pain..these 6 weeks will be our roughest as we are trying to heal...its hard and I know that mentally its gona be a fight some days more than others..each day gets a bit easier and easier as those that have traveled before us have quoted..I am finding that I am having a better day each day and I hope that happens for you also..

I am sorry I know how it feels to have a cancelled surgery, my dr. got sick and I went thru the whole thing with all the unsupportive people saying " maybe this is a sign" ...had some fleeting second thoughts over it and a whole lot of anxiety... I know my surgeon has drilled into my head the lifelong relationship he and I will have..so I know the disappointment your going thru..Keep your head up and keep researching to find a new surgeon..My original date was 11.30 and my sleeve date was 12.12.11..so I am fianlly done....I do think everything happens for a reason and I am a believer in GOD, but I dont think god is going to tell you to stay unhealthy...try and kick those anxieties and second guesses out of your head....what I do think is that GOD does look out for us and maybe that dr that cancelled wasnt in the cards for you...so maybe not so much the surgery but the actual surgeon and those around him...

TO all the Veterns on this site..thank you so much for your insight, encouragment, advice and your wisdom of been there done that...
I follow the plan from my surgeon and my dietican to the letter..after reading frisco's post about the scary stuff..I do as a medical professional see the point...different surgeons different techniques..I felt very secure in my chosing of docs after browsing thru a sea of them.. Things are going to change..change we all know is ineviable..some change is good and some not so good....I am so new at this I can not advise someone, except on a nice tip of finding a palatable protein that doesnt make me vomit! As the years change so will surgery plans and techniques.....
therefore I do believe that in 2 yrs from now I am going to be shocked to find out what new things they are doing.....
As a newbie I am thankful to all the other newbies that offer up their stories, experiences, and questions.....
I really am thankful for this site..

all I know is that I hope you have a blast..last night I was watching a movie filmed in Hawii and have only ever seen pics from my parents going..as an obese female when asked by my husband thisspot was never in the running...too hot requiring to little clothes!
I was sleeved on 12/12 and starting to lose...I was watching tv last night and seen Hawaii and was mesmorized.....it has moved up to spot number one once I meet goal!!! 1st of the year savings will start soon...

Please oh please post pics...I would love to see!!!!!

i am glad your venting...I am a nurse so first thing caught my eye Cushing disease....I know about it you live it.....the lose has started and you have to start somewhere!! Get with your NUT, with a slower metabolism and other disease processes, you may need a to the letter kind of plan!!!!!

CONGRATS ON YOUR 3.........think of it this way ...I think of losing fat as pound of fat pound of bacon....3 pounds of bacon removed from your boday!!!!

this is wonderful.... no funky "smell" like some of my powders......30gm of protein for 11 oz....it tastes amazing!!!! fluid and protien goal here i come.....
I know this isnt a new find, but its new for me and i wanted to share with others that are new so that if they sruggle with smell like I do, they should try this!

not moronic at all and as a new sleeve as of the 12/12...I was wondering about the dents myself...one is really obvious, my daughter said is that your new belly button?" lolololol I would like to know the answer myself!!
about your pain, something I am taking that has made me feel sooo much better..better than any of the narcotic stuff (at least since hosp discharge) , was robaxin..I had so much pain post op monday and tuesday they ran it thru my iv, and I have been taking it oral every 6 hours at home...it miraculous how damn good that pill works!!!! Ask your dr if your a candidate for it...you'll be glad you did...

it truely does get better, I'm more uncomfy than anything..as long as I take my pain meds routinely...one thing I was prescribed and I cant BELIEVE how much it has helped more than the narcotic pain meds is called Robaxin...its in the celebrex family..and it helps with the sore muscles!!!

look how far you have come..dont let into the temptation..I was sleeved on monday..think of the pain you went thru...we have sacrified part of our antomy to help with this disease...OBVIOUSLY you are stronger than what you are giving yourself credit for ...86 pounds...thats a kid......
I know when I get to where you are I am going to face the same struggle....food is...MISTAKE ..was our comfort and I am trying to learn the mindset...EAT to LIVE....not living to eat as that only ends up bad..
