Topic: RE: 3 days post op-wooosh! PRE-OPS DO NOT READ!!
Oh...I hated the first 48 hours...AWFUL

I was kicking myself for doing this. I got over it. Truly, every day gets easier. This will be the best thing you ever did for yourself. Just stay strong and take one day at a time.

Feel better soon.

Topic: RE: dangers of calcium supplements?!!
I absolutely agree. For myself, I have a very strong family hx of cardiac issues, not to mention my own risks. So the topic is definately noteworthy and warrants discussion with my physician.

That said, I think that's what these articles and sharing them is all about....to provoke thought and dialogue. Thus, enabling us to make an educated decision.

I will definitely pm you! Thank you for the offer....very much appreciated.

Topic: RE: Loving me some Fage with strawberries
I loved yogurt, especially Fage, before surgery. Now? cannot stand it! Bummer........
If I put SF syrup in it, I can basically get it down, but that's about it. No joy in that!

Topic: RE: dangers of calcium supplements?!!
That is one of the downsides of articles; they are, as the name indicates, just an "article" of something larger. It would be interesting to read the study in its entirety. I am certain that the community of cardiology professionals have been given this full disclosure. Thank you for giving me and additional thought on the matter;  I will be asking mine to give me a copy or at least allow me to read some of it.

Topic: RE: 100lbs since Journey Started!
I have been following your journey right along with you and I am so happy for you!
You have, and continue to do, a great job....

Congratulations on your weight loss and your victory over negative food issues.

Also, I offer up good thoughts that you find peace, comfort, and wisdom regarding what ever horrible thing happened.

Topic: RE: dangers of calcium supplements?!!
Correct....which is why I intend on discussing with my doctors. As it is equally dangerous to just discount something as an automatic response.

Topic: RE: shamefully OT....St. Germain Wisconsin anyone?
Thinking about heading to Big Germain Lake.....anyone out there got any tips on the area, fishing that lake, typical weather for end of May, etc.

anything you got to offer in way of info. would be extremely appreciated!!!!

Thank you

Topic: RE: dangers of calcium supplements?!!
I received this article from AARP (no old people jokes, please LOL) I have not yet discussed these "findings" with my surgeon or cardiologist yet, which I intend to do...

anyway, take what you will from it...just wanted to pass it along.

Very motivating, thanks for sharing....sounds like a fabulously fun time.

Topic: RE: Anyone Else Test Positive for H-Pylori Before Surgery?
I did not test positive before surgery, however I have been conventionally treated for it twice in the past and the meds are far worse than what they are treating!

The last time I was in it, I got extremely sick and now I am allergic to one of the antibiotics that was in it. So the last time I tested positive, I did a ton of research and treated myself, successfully, with PYLORICIL...not suggesting that you do that, certainly follow your doctors orders....just saying that there are other options, so look into them if you wish.

Good luck, I hope you feel better soon
(((hugs)))

Topic: RE: costco shoppers?
THANK YOU everyone for taking the time to offer up so many great ideas!

Topic: RE: costco shoppers?
YAY for you feeding your dog no grain and raw bones!! So happy to see that!

Topic: RE: Just thinkin'.....
It was recommended to me, by my cardiologist, to have this surgery back in 2009. I made an appointment, cancelled, rescheduled....etc. I hemmed and hawed until this year. Once I became dedicated to this, I knew it was the right decision.

It is totally reasonable to be nervous and what not. Once you come to terms with yourself and you determine that you have given dieting and regaining enough of your life, you will become completely dedicated as well...to eating healthier...with or without surgery. Only you can decide what you have invested in you.

Topic: RE: THRILL!!
Congrats to you.....your big day will be here very soon!

Topic: RE: costco shoppers?
I will be heading there soon....Can you all give me ideas on some items I should be sure to pick? Dont shop there usually so I don't know what they have that would fit into the sleeve plan.

Thanks!

Topic: RE: Anyone on Coumadin ever have the sleeve?
Lovanox injections are easy and expensive....however you can ask for heparin injections to give yourself at home....way way WAY less than lovanox and almost as easy.

Topic: RE: Ok my surgery is in 10 days what do I need???
In the search bar at top right, type in. bring to hospital

A whole lot of posts will come up and you can go from there. Me? I always bring way too much crap!
