Topic: RE: re:Being Nice To The Newbies
I love reading post from vets because it give me insight to everything.I really don't post that often because I'm still in the pre-op,What i've learned is that the three week stall will happen.Protein first everything else second,Vitamins are key. There is so much that i learned from this board and I'm continuing to learn on a daily bases. When i went to my nutritionist appointment last week and we was talking she was extremely impressive with how much i knew.I told her that was because i spend a lot of time reading as much info from the Internet and the message boards here that i can get my hands on.So i just want to give ato the vets.

Topic: RE: Getting Closer
Hi Everyone,I hope that everyone is doing well,Congrats to all that have been sleeved recently.I'm still in the process of getting sleeved,I still have my upper gi and psych eval to go.Those appointments are next week and then everything will be submitted.I had my nutritionist appointment on Thursday and everything went really well,She said that she was actually impressive with the amount of information that i knew.I told her that this has been a long process,Not only that this Forum and all the vets, newbies and everyone in between have been extremely helpful.I don't post a lot but I'm  daily reader of.She was also impressive that i had sample packages of vitamins that i had gotten from celebrate,She asked me if i was taking them yet and i told her no because i wanted to run it by her first before i started taking them. She also gave me a sample package from Bariactric Advantage and suggested some other stuff that i also get.She did weigh me and i gained 4 pds since last month..:sigh:,I know truly now that this is the best decision that I'm making for myself. We also went over my labs again,Everything is good with the acception of my Vitamin D being extremely low.It was a 8 so I'm on 50,000 iu of Vitamin D once a week.Again i want to thank everyone on this board because you guys have helped to prepared myself so much.I feel like I'm really  ready to tackle  everything.

Topic: RE: Might pass up a trip to Vegas to avoid the humilation of the seat belt on the plane not fitting.
I say go on the trip and enjoy yourself. In five weeks your body will most probably be smaller anyway....Don't be afraid to ask for a seat extender,This is just part of your journey before you know it a seat extender will be something of the past. When i last traveled i went to Arizona via jet blue(love them) and i asked for an extender and i was not embarrassed at all because they deal with it on a daily bases and i took control over by not being embarrassed.

Topic: RE: Therapy Before Surgery: A Good Idea

I  totally agree with you,I've started to journal again because that has help me with my wanting to eat when I'm bored....I have my first visit with a therapist Sept 8Th and i plan on doing a couple session before my surgery and i plan on doing a couple session after surgery. When i first started researching surgery i started to look at myself and tried to figure out what has gotten me to over 460 pounds.I've pin pointed some of the issues and have dealt with them but its not going to hurt to have a little more help.

Topic: RE: Major Observations here on VSG Main......
I'm not new to OH,I've been on here since 09 but i've been researching weight loss since i was about 20,However my insurance only covered rny/lapband two year ago and honestly i wasn't ready mentally for surgery and i didn't want either one of them. When i saw my surgeon two years ago i knew that i wanted VSG from then but because my insurance wouldnt covered it ,I back out.So here i am and i will hopefully be having surgery next month.I can honestly say that i've learned so much from the vets.Things to look out for (3 week stall),how to get my water in.The amount of information is great,I know that everyone journey is different but i've appreciated all the information that i've gotten here.

Topic: RE: Does everyone really get in 64oz of water?
If you go back a couple of post, from yesterday there was an excellent  thread that talked about how to get in that much water...It was really insightful,Idk who posted it but it was really helpful especially for someone like myself who is still pre op.
