Topic: RE: Wearing clothes that fit you (pics and several NSVs)
I've never had issues with my arms...now my thighs are another matter.  I wear loose dresses to hide the sins that are my thighs.

My friend is getting her arms done on June 4th.  I"m so excited for her, and want to see the scarring.

I had an interesting experinece yesterday.  As a reminder, I lost over 70 lbs with a band before I revised to a sleeve. I've lost about 25 since then...

Back on Feb. 29th, I bought a size 14 dress from Talbot's that was a little snug on me.  I bought it specifically to wear to a wedding next weekend.  I thought, since I had lost some more weight I should try it on.  Yesterday I did.  It was only a little loose and I felt that I looked frumpy and ugly in it.  Because I bought it in February, I thought for sure that I would not be able to find one in a smaller size.  Long story short, I did!!

Here I am in the 14 (ignore the sad face and no makeup):

Here I am in the size 12:

Just goes to show you how the right fit in clothing makes all the difference.

Good Lord, give yourself a break.  You lost 10 lbs in three weeks.  When was the last time that happened?  Give yourself some time and look at the big picture.  It will come off. You can't expect to lose 100 lbs in 3 weeks.

To me it seems that you are doing excellent.  Hang in there.  I swear that if you are doing what you are supposed to do, it will come off.

I had the sleeve after having a band for two years and experiencing a slip. I wish I would have had the sleeve first.

Jean, I'm 10 weeks out since my revision and am loving my sleeve!  I have already had way less complications than with the band.  Sure the band helped me lose 75 lbs, but I LOVE my sleeve already!

Congrats on being sleeved, Melly!  I've lost over 20 lbs since revising from the band to the sleeve (I'm about 10 weeks out), and have 10 lbs to go to get to my final goal.

I LOVE my sleeve!  I have had absolutely no complications, other than I cannot tolerate sugar.  I have not thrown up ONCE!  By this time with the band, I had worshipped the toilet bowl more than once.

I think you will love the sleeve!

Anyone have a good recommendation for a self tanner?  I'm looking for something new. I like the L'Oreal lotion stuff ok, but it has a strange smell. I used something in an aerosol can that was recommended to me by the lady who does my facials, but I can't get it on evenly. Help! Summer is here and my legs are GHOST WHITE.

Ok.  I've been wearing Lane Bryant cotton bikini bottoms for as long as I can remember.  And!  NSV!! They are too big for me now!!

My problem is I don't know where to go for undies.  I LIKE my LB cotton bikini panties.  I mean I really like them.  Does anyone have any suggestions about where to buy something similar?  I like a bikini.  I like cotton.  I can't seem to find any at the department stores, I tried and didn't find anything I liked.

Help!  :)

I'm 5'8" and my goal is 173.  I hope to settle somewhere between 163 and 173.  163 is the top of my BMI range.  173 is what I weighed in high school.  I don't think anything lower than that is realistic for my body frame.  Good luck to you!

Topic: RE: Band to Sleeve... experiences... ??? Need advise!! Please HELP!
I revised six weeks ago today. I absolutely love my sleeve.  All the other band to sleeve folks have said the same things that I would say about the sleeve.  The only things I seem to struggle with is rice, pasta and bread, all things that should be eaten in extreme moderation anyway.

I'm very thankful that I revised.  I had a slip and chose to revise immediately.

Topic: RE: Stuffed myself....and it wasn't even that good???
Sometimes this journey is so freaking hard.  Last night, after a particularly rough day at work I was craving carbs...fried rice to be specific.  Long story short, I ate until I couldn't eat anymore and was miserable for two hours.  SO FULL.  I wasn't comfortable standing, sitting, walking....didn't feel like I could throw up.  UGH it was worse than Thanksgiving dinner in the "old" days.

Here's the deal...the supid fried rice was not even that good!  UGH.  I stuffed myself, was miserable and it wasn't even good food.

Ugh.  I know better.  Just needed to vent that sometimes, no matter how far out I get, I still screw up :(

Yes, you just add it to regular water and it doesn't need sweetner at all.  I have never had diet snapple and I don't like Crystal lite.  I do drink Sobe and Vitamin Water Zero and equate it to a similar taste to that.

I started drinking those drinks when I gave up Diet Coke, so I understand your delimma.  It took some getting used to.

Topic: RE: Update and a Couple of Odd Questions.. a lil long
I would call your doctor and get your levels checked.  A couple of the things you mentioned sound like low iron to me.   Not that I'm a doc or a nurse or anything like that.  The hair loss, the skin itching, the weird feelings in yoru arms.  Worth getting blood drawn to make sure all of your levels are correct.

Google simptoms of low iron, and you can see that it might be your issue.

Good luck!

You and I have the same surgeon.  Dr. Heider is great and all the other posters said exactly what I would have said...so I won't repeat it.

Please feel free to private message me if you need encouragement from someone who has had a VSG from Dr. Heider and who has been on this journey for a while (Revised from a band).

I'm looking for some flavor to put in my water. The pre mixed drinks (Such as Vitamin Water Zero) you buy are so expensive and I'd like to be  able to flavor my own water.  You know the drill, no calories of course.  I HATE lemonaid so please don't suggest Crystal Lite.  Are there others out there or am I doomed to drink boring regular water for the rest of my life?

I can't do laser because I'm a natural blonde.  Laser doesn't work on hair that isn't dark.  :(  Bummer for me.

I do electrolysis on my face and that is super expensive.  That is really the only permanent hair removal option us blondies have.
