Topic: RE: Hair Shedding
Hi everyone it's been a while since I have posted. I'm 6 months out and my hair is shedding so bad. I washed my hair this afternoon and I literally filled a sandwhich bag with hair. I'm scared to death that I am going to go bald. Is there anything that I can do to stop the shedding or at least slow it down?

Thanks EMMA, I have struggled with depression in the past. The crying is beyond my control at this point. I am getting back on some meds for it as well. I promise you I will try to stop though. You are too kind.

Sleeva, thanks for your prayers. You have been really good about checking on me and I really appreciate it. I think the rest is up to me now, I have to get the vitamins in and get the exercise.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'm trying really hard to get my vitamins in. I can barley walk for 10 mins, but I'm working on it. I hope things get better for you too.

Thanks to you both! I have seen my surgeon and my pcp. I'm waiting on lab results to see where things stand. Right now they both say this is normal and will pass.

Topic: RE: Why Is This So Hard For me?
I seem to be having the hardest time recovering from surgery. I will be 9 weeks out on Wednesday and I have not gone back to work.

The first 3 weeks went pretty good for the most part. I had a hard time getting my fluids and protein in, but I was getting there.

Week 4 things changed drastically. My taste changed and I started throwing up everything that I tried to eat or drink, everything was too sweet. I had severe nausea, to the point I felt like I had a hangover. I went to the ER several times for fluids but that did not make things any better. I just had to fight through it. I went through that right up until week 7 where things started to calm down.

Week 8 I was able to finally get my protein in and getting pretty close to the 64oz of fluids. I have been in the house all of this time just trying to survive, i have become so weak. My muscles have turned to complete flab.

My friends came by on Saturday to take me shopping because I was supposed to go back to work today. I almost passed out in Ross, I had to sit in the middle of the floor to keep from passing out.

I'm so overwhelmed and depressed, I can't stop crying. I don't know how to make things better. I have not been getting any exercise because I have been so weak. I also had not been getting my vitamins because I could not keep anything on my stomach. My surgeon just keeps saying things will get better. I just want to feel better. Please pray for me.

I know we want, what we want, when we want it. You have lost a 155lbs in less than a year, you have done AWESOME and in my opinion have nothing to be frustrated about. Congrats to you! The rest will come, don't be so hard on yourself.

My approval was only for one day, but I stayed 2. The hospital just has to call it in if your son needs more time, they will approve it. I have Anthem BCBS PPO also.

Topic: RE: One month out today: I'm really struggling. Harder than I thought.
Stacie, I'm right there with you. I am 8 weeks out today and I still struggle. I just found a protein shake that I can get down, but it makes me kind of sluggish. Water for me is a joke, can't drink it plain to save my life. I can only eat about 3 to 5 bites of any given food and I'm done.

Like you every night I say I am going to get in all of my protein and fluids and I just can't seem to get there. It takes me 3-4 hours to drink a 10oz shake. It completely baffles me when I read that someone can eat 2 eggs and a slice of bacon at 2-weeks out.

I will be praying that things get better for the both of us soon.

ETA: I often wonder if my sleeve is too small.

Topic: RE: I wanna take the sugar out of my sweet tea, any ideas?
Erica, I can't thank you enough for posting this. I have been having the hardest time finding some thing I could stand to drink. I bought lipton decaf a few weeks ago and boy what that too strong. I sent my brother to the store to get the luizanne and made 1/2 gallon. This is great, I will have it in the fridge at all times. Thanks so much!

hag, your are still on a nausea med? Damn, I was hoping this would all be over by the time I got to where you are. I do have Zorana, but I am so dehydrated the **** won't dissolve under my tongue. Needless to say that makes me throw up too. My surgeon gave me a patch and I was throwing up even with that. Again things have been ugly around here.

Kabooboo I loved those before surgery and now even those are too sweet. I can't believe the trouble I am having. I knew things were not going to be easy but I never thought this would be such a big issue for me. Thanks for taking the time to repsond.

Hi Nilesmama! I have been thinking about you. How are things coming for you? I have been cutting the drinks and I still can't seem to get it right. I'm going to keep trying though. I feel like my life depends on it now. I can't afford to keep running to the ER. Don't get me wrong I will go if I need to but enough is enough.

Thanks Tripmom! I have tried the decaf tea, but it is so strong. Should it taste like regular tea? Maybe I am doing something wrong when making it.

Thanks Shagdoll! I'm concerned as well, but my surgeon does not seem to be. I have cried so much over the past few weeks. I refuse to shed a tear today. I'm just praying that I will get through this and things will start to turn around for me.

I have tried the crystal light and the walmart brand of Mio. Maybe I should try regualr Mio.
