my cycle has definitely changed. and before surgery, my pms was more of a weepy person. now i want to strangle everyone that walks in my path.  this has been every cycle since surgery. Now I am 4 days late i think my husband is going to move out(kidding). I have been a nightmare and it's all from a surge in hormones causing me to get enraged a few times a day and im very short. I hope this evens out soon.

It is very real!!! Good for you. I can relate to the car thing. I was commenting to my husband the other day about how when I was driving I actually felt uncomfortable because there was so much more space between me and the steering wheel. It's so odd. The skinny legs really show themselves in the car, don't they?

Good job, keep up the good work!

A typical day for me is a protein smoothie for breakfast which gives me 35 grams of protein. 27 from the powder and 8 grams from the milk. a string cheese for snack. meat of some sort for lunch. usually about 1.5 to 2 oz. a protein bar for afternoon snack (these fill me up like crazy) and then dinner is usually some sort of meat and some veggies. same about 1.5 to 2 oz of meat. between the protein shake and protein bar im getting in tons of protein. I was doing no protein shakes at all or protein bars the whole time up until about 2 weeks ago and was not getting near the protein, calories and was losing way slower. Then threw those in instead and it started speeding up.

For protein shakes im using the bariatric advantage banana flavored powder and adding about a half cup of frozen strawberries and 8 oz of 1% milk. it works! protein bars are zone perfect bars and they are good too (Got those at costco).

You keep it up too!! I can barely imagine Onederland. I haven't been that small in probably 20 years. amazing! I havent been this small in 15 years. Yay for us!!!

I am taking in between 750 and 900 calories. Seems like the minute I went over 800 calories, the weight started falling off.  I worry less about carbs, but I am focusing on protein intake. working on 60-80 grams of protein. I even had 89 grams of protein one day. It was nice! My nutritionist said to not worry about carbs and just focus on protein, but i have tried to stay betwen 40 and 60 carbs and for the most part. And, other than a few days, have stayed within those guidelines. you are doing great!!! 56 lbs is amazing!! To be fair 10 lbs of the 49 lbs I lost was the week before surgery. I always include it because you gain it back somewhat in the hospital and then lose it again after surgery.

Thanks for all of the encouraging comments!

Topic: RE: Question about first meal of the day
That's very interesting that you mention that about the fluids in the morning. M-F when I am getting ready for work, every day i down tons of water cause I am so thirsty. I then eat about a half an hour or so after I get to work with no problems. It seems that the issues are on the weekends and that would make complete sense about needing to drink water on the weekends, too. Never put that together. Thanks so much for the help!!

Topic: RE: Question about first meal of the day
I am just under 8 weeks out and have noticed the past few weeks that the first few bites or drinks of the day i can feel my stomach is a little upset. Is this someone anyone else remembers having? Not expecting it to be a bad thing. I am just nosey! :)

I completely understand how hard it is to get over your family issues. I went through all of the stages of dealing with my own issues with my family and luckily have accepted my past, and have control of my present and future and am much closer to my family than i ever was. IT will happen to you in time.  Thanks for your support of me. :)

Thanks Cathy! Usually weekends arent a problem for me, but this one is not so great. I know I am due to start in a few days, so I am sure that has something to do with it, too. Hang in there! You are doing great!

Having a tough head hunger day. I know it's because I have eaten more carbs than normal the past few days. I vow to get right back on track. I am still losing steadily, but don't want to risk falling into old habits. Wish me luck!

After not seeing my family since july of last year. Went to a baby shower yesterday and I keep hearing "oh I can realy tell in your face that you have lost weight!" really, my gigantic butt disappearing and much smaller belly, legs don't stand out? You could sit on my butt cause it was like a shelf and now it's not like that at all. I am down 3 sizes and all you can tell is in my face? Ugh!

all done venting now.

Topic: RE: Ladies I need help.
My surgeon said I could do tylenol and could use the leftover liquid vicodin. If you have that, it should get you through. You could do childrens chewable tylenol or even the liquid tylenol. I hope you feel better soon!

I have been sticking to the diet and vitamins and am super exhausted. Usually I am a very fast walker, can't sit still. I am moving in slow motion all of the time now. Can't concentrate on anything. Have had no probs from the surgery. Just hoping I will gain energy soon.

The issue was that our doctor's plan requires no beefier pork ideally for six months. I didn't understand why especially after everything I have read on this forum. Thats why I emailed our dietician for clarification.  I'm so glad I can help, latoya!! Anytime!

Topic: RE: Food frustration, confussion, irritation, etc..I know I am not alone
I emailed Stacey the other day at dr wagner's office to ask why we can't have pork or beef. This is what she said: "As for why no beef or pork for 6 months, it is really just because most people won’t tolerate these well ever after surgery and most of the time these foods will get stuck and come back up. Dr. Wagner just prefers you to wait until 6 months to save you from having problems."

Well, I have already had ham on Christmas Eve and Pork two days later with no probs. I told her this in another email and she had no problems with it. So it just comes down to if you try it and have no probs, you should be ok.

I hope this helps!!

 that just sucks!

I am doing very well. Finally getting some energy. Finally cooking regular food, instead of heating up canned goods, etc. Hoping to see the scale move again.

I hope you feel better soon. Keep me posted on how it goes. I am sure all is fine.

I had one of those contrast cat scans as well. It's an odd feeling, just remember it doesn't take long. I am so sorry that you are going through all of this. ugh! how are you feeling?
