What protein shake do you use? Also, can you share your calorie, carb and protein gram intake per day! Thanks!

I am a slow loser also and have only lost 4 pounds since week 3/4. I have noticed if I get closer to 800 cals per day instead of 600 I lose a little quicker. Also, I slowed down abunch when I went into the solid food stage at 4 weeks. I was losing pretty quickly during the liquid stage but am not now. I also have been getting 80-90 grams protein daily and it hasn't changed my loss much..still slow. I am going to exclude beef jerky (sodium) for a week and see if that helps. I feel bloated! I hate it that it takes forever to figure my body out.

I rely on beef jerky daily to give me 15-30 grams of my protein intake. I usually eat it for snack.

What are your thoughts on consuming this for protein? Will it slow my weight loss. The nutrition info is below for a serving.

1 oz
80 cals
1g gram fat
3g carbs
620mg sodium
3g Sugar
14g Protein

How many oz of drink did it make. That sounds yummy. I have been looking for a good coffee protein mix. I have unjury protein powder and the atkins ready made shake and the hazelnut syrup. I wonder if it would taste good too. How many oz of coffee? Thanks.

Topic: RE: Frustrated-4 weeks post op
I just went from the full liquids stage to full food and have loved every minute of it...liquids were brutal.

I eat mostly shrimp, fish, chicken, beef jerky, won ton soup, beans, cheese sticks, protein shakes, crab cakes and drink the isopure protein drinks. I try to get in 80 grams protein, under 40 grams carbs and tend to stick between 500 & 700 calories for the day (I tend to lose quicker with higher cals but struggle to get in over 700). Outside of that I don't really count anything else, sugar, or fiber etc and try to stay away from anything sugar free (just a personal preference).

I try to walk at least 3 times per week and hope to start the shred or c25k this weekend. My loss has really slowed down since starting solids but I hear that is normal...argh.

Here is a normal day for me. I hope this is helpful for you.

B: Sausage
S: Isopure Protein Drink
L: 1 oz chicken & .5 oz black beans
S: Tangy Tomato Salad 5 oz (slider food for me but oh so yummy)
D: Cilantro Salmon 1.5 oz
S: Sharp Cheddar Cheese Crackers & Cilantro Salsa (melted a cheese stick to make crackers)

Topic: RE: C25K or 30 Day Shred?? Anyone Doing Them?
I want to start the C25K program this week. I started it a couple of months ago and really enjoyed it on the phone app but I broke my foot and haven't been able to jog at all. I am released from the foot surgery and my WLS to jog but was wondering if there is anyone else doing it? I really need an accountability partner.

PS - I also have the Jillian Michael's 30 day shred that I haven't started. I wonder if doing these at the same time and alternating days would be a good idea. Has anyone done the shred? Is it super duper hard?

Topic: RE: How to stop losing?
I think there is a maintenance board that can help you. I wouldn't stop working out, it is so good for your heart. Maybe increase your calories by 50-100 and do it for a week or two. Use healthy fats to increase it, maybe avocados or peanut butter, nuts. Find your calorie range that is your comfy spot. I can't wait to get to maintenance.

Topic: RE: Isopure Rage
Are you talking about the Isopure in the glass bottle? If so, I have the grape frost one sitting in front of me. I am 6 weeks post op and have been drinking them since pre op. Try to mix the raspberry crystal light and cut it in half with ice and water. It takes me all day to drink it that way since it turns into 40oz instead of 20 but it is actually yummy and I prefer it to water now. It almost tastes better than a regular vitamin water zero.

Thanks everyone! I took a 20 minute brisk walk, brewed some decaf tea and ate 1.5 oz of left over steak and it kicked my craving..for now. Everyone in my family are soda junkies so it surrounds me. I will just have to resist the empty calories. Is coke 0 okay for you? Does anyone else drink it. I haven't ever seen it before.

Okay, I was a coca cola addict before VSG on 10/20/11. I haven't had a soda since surgery but the past couple of days I have caught myself wanting one really badly. I have even looked at my calorie intake and have room for one per day but I don't want to get addicted again. I hate the taste of diet anything so that is out. I want to taste a coke so bad and know it is just a matter of time. Please talk me out of it. Is there anyone that consumed one per day and still lost successfully?

Topic: RE: My One Month Post Op Report - Not G Rated!!

It has only been one month since surgery and going into this surgery I had so many goals and expectations. I am happy to report the below NSVs and SVs!!

28 pounds - gone forever (never letting them come back)
33.5% of my excess weight is gone
Size 16 gone forever (packing them up this weekend)
I am just overweight not obese
27.75 inches gone (this one amazes me)

I am still waiting on my energy to come back but am hoping it will make a reappearance since I start real food this week...oh sweet Jesus...I am so excited to get liquids behind me!!

and a not-so-appropriate-NSV -- I can see my crotch while driving..haha! When I look down I no longer see fat rolls but can see the seat between my legs...amazing...hope i made you laugh. I guess it is the little things!!
