I have just started on fitday and was wondering how many carbs most of you eat a day to lose weight. Is there a site to look at that tells all about carbs, proteins, ect

My weight loss sweet spot was 800 calories per day and 50% of calories as protein.

Also did cardio 3 days a week, strength training 2 days.

    John - but that's fine.

Also, 50% of 800 calories for Protein would be 100 grams.  In case the OP needed to know.

I try and keep my protein about 30% of the total calories but you do need carbs too. I just make sure that most of the carbs I eat are vegetative (fruits or veggies) and not starchy like bread, pasta, rice..or even potatoes to an extent..

I'm not sure there's a site that discusses carbs and proteins so much..Just what I've picked up and then verified in searches..If you consume high protein, you will need alot of water to help out your kidneys..
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

**totally valid question! this stumped me all the time & was/is a constant source of frustration for me, being the type a personality who always wants to get things "right"**
I liked fitday, but at the time, their site didnt contain many of the foods i ate (or was supposed to be eating).
    Im currently digging about.com & calorie count @ about.com.
i DLed it to my phone & now i can scan the barcode of the foods i eat/drink & it'll automatically log it w/ all the info for me!
    love that
as for an all in one protein/carb know it all site - i wish there was & if you happen to find it, please forward me way :) I pick up most my knowledge/guidance/advise from the folks right here on on OH.

My surgeon told me when I had rny surgery that my target was 45 gms of carbs per day-and he stressed "good carbs" so I'm assuming whole grains and fruit as oppposed to macaroni and cheese? I have stuck around that number since surgery 10 yrs ago. I do 1000-1200 calories per day - and adjust that up or down depending on my exercise level. It's worked for me.
