Topic: RE: okay, this is an embarrassing subject
thanks...I'm going to look into that, though here in Arizona when it gets to be 115 in the summer, the last thing I want to wear is shapewear! but then I normally wear skirts and dresses to keep cool.

do you have them super tight? I didn't even know I could look at a mons reduction. Is it an outpatient procedure? How long will you be off work? I'm intrigued. Mine is as big as what you are describing, and I also have to make sure I wear long shirts.

    Topic: RE: Thinking about surgery...
It's good that you are thinking about the whole big picture, because just having surgery doesn't change your life, except for the part that now you are healty, now you can walk into the store and buy something off the rack, now you won't be the biggest person in the room. Those are all HUGE things, but the issues you have with food and eating now will still be there. That's why many of us start to gain back, because this has to be approached like an alcoholic faces drinking- you can't jump off the wagon without consequences. It's a life-long change, that has to be addressed daily. Sometime it's the hardest thing in the world to take good care of yourself. And yes, my hair thinned out when the weight was falling off, but it grows back in. Yes, I have some baggy skin, but I was a lot older than you, so I don't have much elastic in my skin. You have young skin, so there's no telling what might happen.
I'd still do it again, my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. But it's a very personal decision, because only you can manage yourself...

Topic: RE: Long term grad - never get it right
I went through the same thing after one year out- started eating EXACTLY what I shouldn't eat, even though I knew it would make me sick. Counseling is what helped me start to focus on paying attention to how I felt when I craved the no-no's. And now I still have snacks, but I know at night I'll have a piece of dark chocolate with nuts, and satisfy my urge to have something without dumping.
Menopause will really put you through some ups and downs, and remember to be kind to yourself!  Do you start your day with a protein drink?

Topic: RE: okay, this is an embarrassing subject
I am very happily 3 years out, actually started losing a little bit over the past few months but my surgeon and I are perfectly happy where I'm at. Good labs, take my vitamins, eat my protein. Part of my success is that I saw a shrink for a year to deal with my eating issues.
    but my problem is this...
I've got extra skin...down 'there'.  Not just the mons area, if you know what I mean.
And wearing pants has started to become painful. The crotch always hurts me. I feel like a guy, always wanting to stand up and adjust myself.
Have any of you conquered this problem? I doubt I could ever afford a lower body lift, so unless I just wear skirts and dresses, I have to suffer? It does hurt.

Topic: RE: What blood work is needed after 3 years?
I can tell you that my work sheet for the lab calls it 'Malabsorptive PNL'  which is
CPB, CBC, Lipid, Ferr, folate, iron/tibc/tsh, b1, b6, b12, prealbumin...

from what you are saying, I think you should try to get the blood work done a couple weeks before your visit- that way the doctor can look at the results with you.

It might be a good time to take a hard look at what vitamins you are taking.

I hope you feel better soon!
