I just found this forum, but have been lurking on OH for awhile and thought I'd introduce myself.

My name is Lisa, I am 28 years old, married for 3 years now, and am fighting with my insurance to get a DS. I made the decision in 2008 to get WLS but was turned away by my pcp. Since then, my health has rapidly declined but I haven't given up fighting to get the surgery.

I found out Dr. Crookes is the only surgeon in my state to accept my insurance that does the DS so I am trying to get in for a consultation with him. I haven't told that many about my decision to have the surgery and am working on trying to tell the rest.

I am doing this for the health reasons. I lost both my parents to cancer when they were both 58 and my grandfather died from a heart attack at 58 too so I am trying to make it past that age by having the surgery and getting my health back.

I don't know if you have already heard, but If you google 'weight loss surgery proboards' and join that website you'll find some great people who know all about getting insurance etc for the DS and are very helpful xx
