I am so much happier and healtier today and am more than thankful for this amazing tool! I was just curious who everyone is around here now and what stage you are in with your surgeries. Whoa!  It's like twilight zone... Amy just suggested I pop over here and look at you.  Woot!!!

6.5 years out and going strong!!!   Stupid hypoglycemia, but hangin' in there with the foodstuff.

Ohhh yaaaa, Roux en y and a panni removal (anchor cut).

Yay - Glad Jaci stopped by too.  I had a strange urge to pop back in for a visit too - I'm just a bad if not worse of a slacker - it's probably been more than a year since I've posted here and I used to live on these boards.  I'm going on 7 years out (RNY on 11/16/2005), maintaining at 140lbs since 2nd year out.  I feel the same way - blessed, thankful and healthy.

Girl, if it wasn't for you, I'd still be on other boards and forgetting this one.  I wonder if my surgery month/year board is active at all lol!

it's always a ghost town around here lately.

i'm jen, and in september i'll be 2 years out from rny. i've been maintaining between 150-155 since around christmas time. i'd love to lose more but my body just seems comfortable here and doesn't want to drop anymore, and maintains with very little work.

I totally know about the whole wanting to go lower yet the body is happy where it is.  Grrrrr hehe.

it's so frustrating! especially only being 5'0" i'm still straddling the line between obese and overweight, but definitely still better than a 49 bmi!

stick to your surgeon's plan, exercise as soon as you feel up to it, and take as long as you can before adding back bread, rice, pasta, etc.

the exercising and adding back carbs later rather than sooner are two things i didn't do that i regret now.

2 years and 3 months post-op! Haven't been here in forever, either. So here's my short update...

I gained nearly 10 pounds over this summer (living with my parents and sister) BUT have already started to shed it since moving back to school--thanks to eating right (doing my own grocery shopping, etc), being on a regular schedule (thanks to classes), and walking across campus.

Kind of a reminder to get back to the basics: STOP grazing (that's a big one), do at least a LITTLE bit of exercise each day, strictly watch alcohol and/or liquid calorie consumpiton, don't eat out of boredom, and don't keep yummy snacky foods around the house.

I only allow myself to keep two kinds of snacks around: carrots & hummus and celery & peanut butter. If I'm craving something sweet, I'll go for the celery with pb. This has been MONUMENTAL. If I have something like cheez-its or pop-tarts around, i'll eat them just because they sound delicious, not because I'm actually hungry. If I actually take the time to get out the veggies and hummus, I know there is at least some real hunger there.

    Just my .02!

Hey guys I'm Naomi and I am 17 months post op. I am slowly but surely getting to goal! I'm between 180-190 depending on what yummy Louisiana food I eat :) But I'm healthy! I am scheduled to get a panniculectomy on 12/17 so i've started my reconstructive phase which I am beyond excited for! Hope everyone is doing well!
