Please swing some lizards, say some prayers, think happy thoughts
I just got home from my pre op appointment for my hernia repair. The doctor was running behind because he had an emergency at the hospital. When he finally came he said he thinks I am at my lowest weight. I pray he is right. I have lost 3 lbs since last month but that could be water weight. I was 117lbs today. The doctor said he is going to try to do this orthoscopically. He said his fear though is he will get in there and there will be alot of scar tissue from the other surgeries I have had. The scar tissue would prevent him from getting the tools around properly which would mean he would have to open me up. If he opens me I will have to go home with drain tubes, etc. He said to expect a lot of pain. The meds he would have given me for this can not be given because of the rny. He said he will do his best to keep me comfortable. I have to start school on August 18th. I need all the prayers I can get that this is a smooth surgery. We are sticking to plan A ladies not an open procedure. Thanks in advance for your happy thoughts and best wishes. I don't know what I would do without my OH family!
Definitely swinging lizards for you, sweetie. Good luck!

Danielle - swinging critters for you! I hope he can do it lap - makes it so much easier.
The meds the Dr is referring to, are they pain meds? I used Loritab after both my RNY and Plastic Surgery (which was open) - its a liquid med that worked very well for me (and doesn't taste too bad). You might want to ask him for it. It also doesn't make you loopy or too tired.

Good Luck! I am anxiously waiting to hear how you do! I, like Jody, used liquid Lortab after my RNY and the Bowel Obstruction. I also have to say while I know having the lap procedure sound easier, I had my bowel obstruction surgery open and actually found that it was less painful and my recovery was easier. I am praying for the best!
