Bounce Back weight????

Can anyone who's reached goal and maintained for a period of time enlighten me on what bounce back really is? As in, how much constitues bounce back since it seems a normal part of the process. If goal were 100 pounds obviously 120 is not bounce back or is it? To me 105 would be more like it but am I wrong?

5 pounds of bounce back room seems reasonable. My surgeon said 3-5 pounds of bounce back is normal for a lightweight. But bounce back happens in the first 6 months or so after you hit your lowest goal. It's different from regain. Bounce back and redistribution go hand in hand, IMO, and that and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee.

Yeah that makes sense. It's funny because even though I am a few pounds from goal I haven't been trying to loose more weight. I do exercise but I genuinely enjoy it. I eat health 90% of the time and then there is the occassional bite of something I really like but can't have much of like ice cream I keep loosing weight although slow so I really wondered when it stopped how much would come back. I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!!

My surgeon's office wants no more than 8 pounds bounce-back or regain without coming in to have everything checked out,so yeah, the 5 pound thing sounds right.

Isn't it great when your program WORKS??

With my first WLS I was told to expect a bounce back of about 10% of lost weight.  So, I have lost 120lbs total from highest weight it means I could regain 12 lbs.
Of course I didn't just bounce back, I ricocheted into oblivion.  Now I realize that bounce back is when you gain a bit even though you are eating basically the same.  Regain is what happens when you aren't eating right.  One is pretty much in my control and the other isn't.

Yeah that sounds good. Regain is bad when it really mean your not doing what your suppose to but I suppose if your body just adapts to having some extra pounds and you are still healthy then there shoudn't be a concern.

Thanks for your input

My lowest weight was 106 but I feel my perfect weight is between 112-115 where I've settled at.

I seem to be working within the same 6 lbs for about a year. Saw my surgeon for a two year post op on Friday and she said i weighed EXACTLY what I did last year at my first year post op-she and I were both pleased!
