    Bars

Can anyone please tell me of some really good tasting high protein bars. I have tried Atkins and don't like them. Also tried Life Choice and the are high in protein but have  18 gm carbs. Thanks!!!

I haven't had any for awhile but I like the Rock n Roll bars.  It is like a Payday candy bar.  I can only eat half at a time because nuts are hard on my tummy.  I buy them at Vitamin World.

I only eat bars if we are traveling and even then I limit myself.  Bars have to  many carbs for me to eat them on a regular basis.

You might try the Detour bars too.

I also stay away from bars - they have too many carbs, but I find that when I eat them, either they upset my tummy or I want more!  Its one of those triggers that I try to stay away from.

A while ago, Nik posted a recipe for home-made bars for me on the RNY forum.  They looked good, but a little sweet.

I find that sweet bars are a trigger food for me - they make me crave other sweet foods, so I save them

Totally not my recipe so don't thank me but these are HELLA good. And have a good blend of protein, carbs and fat.

Just eat them responsibly. Too much is REALLY too much. I don't want to say how I know that.

i like Oh Yeah bars and they were on our first list of OK bars.  I also order boxes from Bariatric Choice for emergencys.  I may have one a week but try hard to stick with food if possible for all the reasons given before.  Except basically nothing upsets my tummy.

Power Crunch is my favorite too.  I especially like the peanut Butter Chocolate.  I also like the cookie and cream and the Chocolate flavor is great.

I love them all too much.  In fact I found them calling my name from the pantry so I don't keep them in the house any longer.  I had weightloss surgery to get out of the food obsession.

FYI, They are coated in chocolate or a chocolate like cover so a good choice in the winter but tend to be super messy in the summer.  Of couse I find myself licking the wrapper to get every last morsel because I am counting the calories and because I love them.

I have not purchased any for a long time but Netrition use to have the best price.  Our Kroger use to carry them too.

I LOVE Quest protein bars. I like the peanut butter, apple pie and cinnamon roll flavors. Low in carbs and have 20 grams of protein. YUM!
I like some of the Oh Yeah! bars. And not much else.

My favorite are Luna Protein but they have a gram of sugar for every gram of protein!

The two bars that I use are Quest Chocolate Brownie which I heat in the microwave for 20 seconds, or Premium Nutrition (Costco 2 12 bar cases for $19.95).  The premier has 30 protein, 23 carbs. I eat that for breakfast before hiking in the woods because I burn it off quickly.  I like the Quest because no coating to get messy in the summer. I leave a couple in my car so that I am never without food in a pinch.
