The soft food you are adding will be mainly protein. Eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese, soft cooked chicken, fish, etc. They will get you some protein but not anywhere near enough because you will be eating such a small amount, probably not more than 2oz or 1/4c. So shakes are still your best friend. At your point, we were eating 6-8 times a day between our shakes and food. Your body doesn't go into starvations because you are eating frequently and getting your protein.
I remember being so ready for each new phase. Just take it slowly, add one food at a time so if anything doesn't sit right, you know what it is. If something causes an issue, just wait a few weeks and try again.
