Lucy mentioned in her post that she is a lurker.  I would love it if just for today (or more) that all of our lurkers would check in and tell us your story and how you are doing!!

Hello, my name is Theresa and I am a lurker!  I had my DS in May 2012 and I use this site to read about other success stories and to keep myself on track.  This site has been very valuable as a support system for me as I frequently travel and cant attend my live local group.  When I have a strange body occurance I can search on here and 9 times out of 10 the topic has been covered and I am good.

My stats are: Open DS Surgery date: May 17, 2012; Surgery date weight 208 I'm 5'4" tall;Lowest weight 124 (too low), Current weight 130-135 and I am 49 years old

Hello Theresa!!  I'm so glad you introduced yourself!  I get a little down when I only see the same 5 or 6 posters posting every day but then I notice there might be 60 views and I've always wondered who the majority of those viewers are.

It sounds like you are doing Great!!

Hello There! I'm sorta a lurker, sorta new. I have posted here before. VSG surgery was just done this last Friday Sept. 5th.  I was up to 201 before pre-op diet with bmi at 35.6. And down to 196.8 at pre-op and bmi 34.9. I'm 5'3". So far so good. I am somewhat confused on the diet I'm suppose to be following. I am wishing they gave more specific foods per week. I'm really sick of the protein drinks alone right now.

Hi and Welcome.

We all get really sick of the protein drinks in the beginning but I can't imagine a day without them now.  I can remember being so ready for each phase change and something new to eat.  Plus everything tasted so strong and different after surgery.  The good thing is that in the grand scheme of things, it really is such a short time and compliance really does make a difference in your healing.

Hope you will stick around, ask questions and let us help when you need it.  You will find lots of support here and folks who understand lightweight issues.

Congratulations on your surgery.  Hope you will stick around and post some.

My surgeon gave us exact items we were allowed to drink or eat if blended to mush.

Did they want you to just do protein drinks for so long?

Good luck.

Linda
