My dr at my weight loss clinic told me since I was a light weight I would lose weight slower then someone heavier, so I'm wondering if this was true for any of you? The day of surgery I was 199 (may 6th 2016) today I'm 152.

Thanks!

Pound-wise it will be slower but if you follow the rules you will possibly get to goal faster.  Everyone is different.  I was under my surgeons goal at 4 months but reset my personal goal at that point.

Percentage of excess pounds gone is about the same but number of pounds is less.  Otherwise, we would all reach goal in a few months.  So if you do everything right, you should not only reach goal but do it in about a year.  There is a weight loss calculator on this site under "more" at the top.  Check it out.

Our weight loss numbers are smaller but we get to goal way faster.   40+ pounds in 3 months is Awesome!!!!  I don't know what your height is but a 47 pound loss probably has you close to being 1/2 way there in 3 months!!

It really doesn't matter. You're in it for the long haul now, so if it takes awhile to lose that's ok.

Your goal weight also doesn't matter. Your body doesn't care what you set as a goal. It will gravitate to the weight it wants, which maybe higher or much lower than your goal.

This is not meant to discourage you, just a reality check. Your body is in control, with you along for the ride.

Generally that might be true - but the bet way to predict how fadt YOU will lose weight is how a first degree relative did - bro, sis, father, mother.

Keep following your dr guidelines - this is a sciencec experiment for us all.  Get your protein, fluids, vitamins in - do not skip any to lose faster - it will only backfire.

You're doing great!
