Topic: RE: XPOST Pain at 3 months
My big incision is on my left side about half way between my belly button and my rib cage but more off to the side and probably a little closer to my ribcage. It is more of dull ache but like I said it does come and go it hurts a little more constant woith exercise. It happens at other times too and there is really no pattern to it--not after eating etc it is just pretty random. I have an appt with my surgeon in 2 weeks..if it keeps up I wll ask him about it then.

What could cause interminent pain under my larger incision at 3months out? I have noticed in the last couple of days I have had some pain there. I have it when exercising and sometimes when sitting or laying so I cant quite figure it out. Any input would be great. Thanks.

    Topic: RE: 3 Months
I can not believe how fast these 3 months have gone by it seems like yesterday I started this journey..I have had many exciting things happen already in this short amount of time. I have also learned alot about myself. At 3 months I have lost 50% of my excess weight( per doc goal) I am exercising 3-4x per week(never thought I could do this) I can walk for more then 10 minutes and not be out of breath, I am able to climb stairs with more ease now and my back pain os virtually gone!! Things that have been hard--my husband is a junk food aholic so it has really tested my commitment as I do the grocery shopping...I have learned just how worth it I am and that I can truly do anything I put my mind to. I have learned that I have to take care of me before I can take care of others, this was really hard since I have a child with autism he ALWAYS came first and now I am realizing I am no good to him if I don t take care of me too..It has been an exciting and wild journey thus far and I am very excited to see what the future holds.

Topic: RE: Feel like I am doing something wrong
Just a question I am 3months post op I work out 3-4 days a week each session  burning about 500-600 cals..I am averaging a calorie intake of about 800-1000 a day and protien is usally 90-100g..is this too much? I am losing I have lost 41lbs but for some reason i still feel like i am doing something wrong. Any advice would be appreciated. I would like to feel peace but I am always worried I am not working my tool correctly and not being able to lose the amount of weight I want.  I think I am just paranoid but there could def be something I am doing wrong.

I am a little over 10 weeks out my dietician said by 12 weeks I should be eating about 6oz of food per meal...I am only at about 4oz but beside that i am wondering if there is a certain number of calories I should be taking in.. I average about 1000 cals and 75-90g of protien I also workout 3-4x per week burning about 500 cals per session..Iin general I have 3 main melas B, L, and D and then a morning and afternoon snack---snack are mainly protien food or a protien shake..any input advice would be great.

I am only 5 weeks post op but I have learned so much about myself and have established well into an exercise routine, I am getting in my protien requirement and then some..I work at a place where 8 of us have had gastric bypass..we all had to go through the same requirments and had the same surgeon...I keep seeing some of them making poor choices, ie. drinking everynight, eating way more food then should, eating things they know they shouldnt be and then the plaster it all over facebook for all of our coworkers to see. Then the image of WLS patients is them not people like myself who are diligently following every piece of the plan and exercising etc.. It is very frustrating that these people at my work become the face of WLS.  It is just frustrating to see this day in and day out and they still lose the weight even though they are doing nothing correctly.

All done thanks for letting me vent.

    Topic: RE: 4 weeks!!
Thanks everyone...I started my exercise routine about 4 months before my surgery and returned to it after 2 weeks and I love it...I will never miss my work out session and I love discovering how much easier it is for me to do know then before. I am loving it!!! As far as food I am very cautious and havent branched out too much but I will get there...I have found something though that works as a great snack for my kids and 1-2 bites cures my sweet cravings...SF Icecream is the best and the kids dont even know the difference. LOL I love helping them to make better choices too so hopefully they will not end up like me in 20 years.  Thanks for all the support guys and I am really looking foward to more milestones

    Topic: RE: 4 weeks!!
It is hard to believe I am already 4 weeks out. I have begun my transition to soft foods and thus far the only thing I have found that is no good for me is pork chops..had them last night only 1oz but it made me feel horrible for a few hours. I know I ate slow enough and I chewed it really well so I am not sure what my pouch didnt like but I wont be eating it again for a while. I am amazed at my progress to day I have lost 18.8lbs which to me is amazing I have hit a weight I havent seen in almost 2 years. Even with that little bit of weight loss things seem so much easier like exercise and playing with my kiddos I cant believe what a difference I feel..I am ecstatic to continue my journey and what the future will hold for me. Thanks for all the advice and support along the way I hope to continue here and sit back and enjoy my journey.

    Topic: RE: Transitioning
So I am 3.5 weeks post op and transitioning to soft foods per my NUT what I am wondering is I know I am still suppose to be getting in 60g of protien are there a certain number of calories I am to be having in a day? If I exercise 4x per week(each session burning 3-400 cal) can you put your body into starvation mode if I do not consume enough calories? Any adivce would be greatly appreicated. Thanks.

    Topic: RE: Pain
I am just over 2 weeks post op(19days) I went back to work on Monday (half days and I sit at a desk)and started exercising again as well. (just walking on the treadmill. and yes this was ok'd by my surgeon) The llast 2 nights after laying on my side either one left or right for about half an hour or so I get this sharp stabbing pain near my large incision it hurts to move and the only way to get it to quit is to lay flat on back. Is this normal? Should I call my surgeon? Is it from something I am doing? Please help me it is really annoying. Please note the pain is only when I lay on my side and usually the rest of the day there is very minimal pain.

    Topic: RE: Question for "Lightweights"
I really like your answer and if I go by percentages I have already lost almost 12% of my excess weight at only a little over 2 weeks post op. That sounds better then the pounds. I am just worried that this is going to be all for nothing...I have failed at so many things in the past I think it is just a matter of mentally understanding this is different and as long as I exercise and follow mynsurgeons orders that it will work. Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement.

    Topic: RE: Question for "Lightweights"
I am not entirely sure what constitutes a light weight my starting BMI was 42..I am just curious how quickly a "lightweight" loses the weight my surgeons office says 6-7lbs a week but that seem like way too much just curious what others experiences were.
