This is such a good reminder to take my vitamins. I will admit I slack on taking them. I have to take them in the middle of the day and sometimes i just forget. I have to take thyroid medication in the morning so I cannot take them then.

Anyways, I hope that it is just your low B12 levels and that your memory comes back as your levels come back up.

Way to go on losing that 20 pounds! I am about the same stats as you, minus the .5 My current weight is 140. I remember when I first started losing I wanted to hit 140 so bad, then I told myself 120. Lol. I think if you know where you want to be then go for it. You may find you want to adjust once you are there whether that is less or more. Now that I am sitting at 40, after having been 128 (for a day but it counts, haha) I know that my ultimate goal is still 120.

I am with you on needing to track. When I track I do so much better. I think you will be okay maintaining. For me it is accidental. I bounce within the same 5-8 pounds weekly, that part is a bit of a struggle.

Anyways, way to go on kicking that regain weights' butt!

Topic: RE: At how many months did your weightloss stop?

My lowest weight was 8 pounds away from my own personal goal which is 120 pounds. That took me about 16 months. But since then I have bounced from 132- 140 pounds. With this year being the hardest. I don't think I am plateauing per say, but more likely I have put myself into maintenance. I also exercise quite frequently so though my scale doesn't change often, my clothing still fits pretty good and I am sometimes able to fit into smaller sizes.

You are still pretty early out. I think you will be okay, just keep on keeping on. Sometimes you will have months with crazy big loses and other months you will be lucky to get a pound. In the end it usually evens all out. Congrats on your progress so far!!

I had the vsg done and that is just what my surgeon preferred. I have had no issues at all. I did get dehydrated my first week, but that was it. I do not regret having the vsg done. Though I think the rny sounds good, too. I think it really just depends on which one you think is a good fit for you.

**Edited to add that I still have not reached goal, however, I think that is because I had began to focus on muscle building and was told to up my calories. When in reality I just wanted to maintain the muscle that I have and continue to lean out. I am still about 10 pounds from my goal.

We have them at my school, but I don't know if they offer scans or the price. I did hydrostatic weighing several months ago and was at 29% but it was also ran by students in my major so I'm not sure how accurate we were.

I'm not going to lie, I've been skimping on cardio but planned on adding it back in this week. I think I'm going to focus on trying to preserve the muscle I've gained and start to focus on more fat loss.

BMI puts me as overweight. Body fat is actually a better indicator of your health because it takes in account of fat mass and lean body mass. That's why bodybuilders can be classified as overweight with BMI but actually have very little fat.

Thanks! Some days it's easier than others. I think due to being obese at one point I always let the scale bother me now.

I eat anywhere from 100-130 grams of protein. Carbs I vary from day to day but never go over 100 unless I had a heavy heavy leg day. I do still weigh, measure and log my food daily. I think he told me to eat more to make sure I was recovering from my weight lifting sessions. I don't lift light weights, I lift heavy. In order to improve my strength I had to increase some with healthy fats and protein. My range is still pretty broad depending on the day. It has been as low as 800 to as high as 1500.

Hey y'all! It has been a while since I have posted. I am 2.5 years post op with vsg. I have still never reached my goal. Anyone else like this and eventually succeeded? I have been exercising 3-6 days a week since I was cleared from surgery, so 6 weeks post op i think ?, I still watch everything I eat(still track it!). I have worked with a trainer and a trainer with a background in nutrition for about 3 months. I saw no weight loss or gain during that time. He did say that he thought I did not eat enough and that I should up my calories. I know that scientifically that makes sense, but from a WLS POV it seems crazy! My workouts do include heavy lifting though..

Anyways- advice? Am I going to forever be stuck in the 130s? I am worried about the 3 year bounce back, too. Not looking forward to ANY bounce back. I just wonder if this is a LW problem as to why I didn't reach goal.

First of all, you have been through a lot! I wish I could say I had tons of advice, but I don't. I was just replying to say that I also suffer or rather suffered from migraines. I couldn't get them to stop, i tried countless medicines and even had botox injections. Anyways, I had the gastric sleeve done and since surgery almost 2 years ago I have had maybe 10 migraines and really that's a stretch, I went from having at least 5 a week to almost none. I really think it had to do with something I was consuming. I realize that this has virtually nothing to do with your post, I just wanted to tell you my experience with migraines and the sleeve, which is the best decision I ever made.

I am hoping that you get the answers you are looking for, I cannot imagine all the vomiting you have experienced! I would say for right now start trying to focus on lower carbs and high protein. Cut out all sodas and start counting everything you put in your mouth. Drink lots of water but not with your meals, wait at least 30 minutes. This is just to help you get ready for life after a revision. It might be a good idea to see exactly what you are consuming every day. Years of dieting can wreck havoc on your metabolism. Unfortunately, it's something we all suffer and learn from.

Hopefully some of the others have some advice!!

Good luck!!!

Holding pretty steady at 132. I did see 131.8 on the scale but that didn't last long. I am starting to wonder if I will ever see the 120s. But as long as I am losing inches I am okay, I think. I have to stop letting the scale mess with my head! While I haven't lost really anything pounds wise in the last 3 or 4 months I have went down pant sizes. I am now fitting into size 6!

I think if we didn't have kids we would have sex more often. Our kids are 8 and 5 so it's kind of hard, no pun intended , to have sex as often as we would like. But it's not really anymore than before. It's always been having kids present that slowed it down. Does that make sense, lol?

Within days of increasing I lost a few pounds. It's scary to increase, but I guess it works for some of us. I believe when I was at the stage you are at I was lucky if I was taking in 600 calories a day. Everyone is different though and every plan is different. I agree, staying the same is okay. I think it is still just a mind thing and I have to remind myself that sometimes the scale isn't what is important and that the way my clothes fit is a better indicator of what I have accomplished. It still amazes me when I see people that I haven't seen in a few months and they comment about how I look great and ask how much more I have lost. It's great to see their expressions when I tell them I haven't lost anymore! Just inches. I mean I have dropped another past size or so in the last month. I can now wear size 6!

I think last time I posted I was at 132. I am still at 132. My weight usually bounces from 130 to 134. It's my fault. I think a lot of it is I am losing inches from working out. I have recently upped my calories, which was so scary, because I was becoming lightheaded when working out and my instructor told me to increase on the days I do 1.5 hours of working out. Surprisingly, I dropped two pounds just from doing that. But the TOM came around so it's back up. I think my problem is I want to see the low number on the scale, even though I am comfortable at this weight and my clothes look good because I am building muscle. I checked my body fat and was at 26.7%. I think I will continue to monitor that as well!

I am so sorry it took me so long to respond! I LOVE my sleeve! It was the best decision I have made for myself and if I had to make the same decision day after day, I would. I finally feel like myself again. I have been very lucky with my procedure. The only issue I had was some dehydration right after surgery but that was all my fault and only happened the one time, two days after coming home.

Thank you! Now if only the scale would notice my hard work lol! At least my clothes are. I swear I have abs underneath my extra skin lol.
