I have been eating a lot more fruit than I used to, but I've been *trying* to follow the WW point system, which allows it.  Boy, gotta tell you - my body isn't used to that much fiber!!  I have been bouncing up a few lbs and it may be because of it, so I think I'll reduce it that may help.

Working from home today and tomorrow.  I've also been applying for jobs in Michigan - just in case my job goes away.  I won't know until Sept, but sometimes it takes quite awhile to even get an interview.  Of course they'll probably want an interview when I'm out in VA...

Where do you find your Carbquick?  I need to start using it.

I ate all that pizza yesterday - ugh!  Now it's gone.

B - coffee, protein hot chocolate and 2 pieces of low calorie wheat bread with butter

L - greek yogurt with SF jelly

    D - idk

    Vits:  yes

Topic: RE: Changing my Goal Weight

I set my original goal for 150 and my surgeon looked funny at me, but he didn't say anything.  I ended up getting down to 123 for awhile, but bounced up since then.

So - take advantage of the time you have, get as low as you can and give yourself some "bounce back" room.  You'll be glad you did!

And - I think you'll be pleasantly surprised just how low you may get!

You didn't indicate and I didn't see it on your profile your height.

No - I haven't tried it yet but have heard several people say they really like it, and if it's low in sugar - bonus!!

Right now I'm "old mother hubbard" as I'll be moving this weekend and don't want to be moving a bunch of groceries.  I feel like a college kid living on $2... lol

I have bread, cheese and peanut butter and jelly, along with 2 greek yogurts (small ones).

Oh and a can of pickled beets - LOL.  I LOVE pickled beets and was thinking of eating them tonight with dinner.

OH - and protein powder!  I have more food in my cubby at work than I do at home.

Hi Roz.  I'm not wishing the month away as summer will fly by all too fast, but I am looking forward to the weekend.

    B - coffee

    S - a piece of pizza.

L - I'm really trying NOT to have another one.  But I think I'll lose that fight.  Otherwise I'm having greek yogurt flavored with Sugar free jelly.

D - IDK.  A sandwich?  my pick of cheese or peanut butter... or pizza - lol.  Yes, I have 3 pieces leftover.  I have a 4 hr training meeting tonight and will be doing it from home.  Lucky for me I have NO snacky stuff here.

Vits:  yes, took extras today because I missed the past few days

Oh yea - I said that too.  Then "I won't ever get above XXX weight".  Then when I hit that I'm, well, ok... I won't get over this XXX weight, and when I hit it and said OMG... I still gained a few more lbs.  It happens.  I know there are some it doesn't happen to, but it such an effort to maintain and get it back off....

Hi Roz.... tell me again how we lose regain?  Seems the harder I try the more I gain...

I did well on my drive back yesterday.  I had a bunch of fruit and leftover veggies I munched on.  Did end up getting a BK chicken sandwich and ate a 1/2 cup of cheesy tortilla soup last night.  Boy - did I feel the restriction then!

    B - banana, carrots and a tomato

    L - Smart Ones dinner

    S - some cashews

    S- Atkins bar

Topic: RE: The Head Games We Play

I had set 5 lb increments.  Especially once I hit my initial goal (150).  I didn't know how far I could get, and when I would hit 145, then 140 was my goal.. .135, 130... with the final goal of 125.

Make them achieveable, maintainable and doable... then keep working the program to see where you end up.

Let's see... what have I eaten today... let's say more than I should.  Helped at my sisters'  biggest fundraiser for her nonprofit.  The day was gorgeous but the turnout was weak.  Not sure why.

B - BK sausage croisanwich meal..I ate the potatoes first then 1/2 of the croisannwich.  My sugar fell after that.. WTH???

    L - 1/2 BLT on wheat and a  pickle

D - a coney dog.  I ate 1/2 the bun and worried about my sugar but it was ok

    vits:  nope :(

fluids - beer and ice tea and water.

What surgery are you having?  Your meals look very good - and your calories and carbs are low, and protein looks good.

I hope you enjoyed the movie Gina - I've been a Star Trek fan off and on, but mostly off.  And only on TV.

Spent the day helping my sister with a fundraiser for her organization.  Beautiful weather here in MI.  78, sunny and a sligh breeze... and I got me some Vit D out of it!! :)

heading back to Va tomorrow.  Not really looking forward to it, but a necessity.  I have a lot to do here.  Mostly got the Durango packed up, but I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

Topic: RE: Menus and Miles Friday May 17th

Hi Roz - wow - busy busy weekend!  I'm helping my sister at one of her annual fund raisers tomorrow.  The weather is supposed to be perfect - let's hope it really happens.  They've changed the weather countless times this week. Sunday driving back to VA with my trailer.  That's an expensive venture... I'll pay 3x in gas for that versus when I drive the car...

I'm babysitting sleeping babies while my daughter and SIL go and look at houses.  I like going with them, but it helps when they don't have to cart the kids with them.

Now - what I've noticed is when I eat a solid breakfast (often I can't eat much for breakfast) I tend to NOT get hungry or feel as munchy.  Today I had a big omelet and was initially looking at it thinking I couldn't eat the whole thing, but I did... I felt full, which I was looking for.

B - (at 10:30) omelet and whole wheat english muffin

    S - a peach (noonish)

D - ended up eating cashew chicken and a spring roll.  Wasn't very good, didn't eat much of it.

    Vits:  yes

Water:  did good with my iced tea today.

Congrats Lauren!  Honestly, we've seen vets come back when they need support and direction to lose their regain, but no one has really stayed and stuck with it as you have.

Topic: RE: Good morning. Happy skinny jeans day!

I did pretty good carb-wise.  What carbs i did eat were from dairy, veggies or whole grains and I didn't go hog-wild on the grains.  I didn't allow any chip type of snacks in the house.  There were days I was searching for the lost box, but glad it didn't appear.

Coming back Sunday.  Then a whole new mindset of eating.  In Michigan it's easy... I've done a lot of cooking this time versus eating out.  Once I move in VA I'll be able to do that more there.

Topic: RE: Menus and Miles Thursday May 16th

Hi Roz!  Happy birthday to your Grandson!  Too cute about kindergarten...

Not sure what's on my eat plate today.  I'm trying to clean my fridge out in anticipation of returning to VA on Sunday.  I don't like leaving much in it in case it goes bad.

Last night I ended up going out to dinner with the kids.  I rarely eat hamburgs but one sounded good, so I had an open faced BBQ Bacon burger - it was really good.  A few fries, got cold quick (which is good)... plus with them being a simple carb I have to be careful with my blood sugar (and a beer of course).

I have meetings all afternoon - boo!  My daughter wants me to go look at a house with her at 3.  I said yes, until a meeting invite rolled in this morning.  One I can't blow off either...

We ended up looking at the house at 11:30 - which worked out well for my schedule.  She liked it but her hubby didn't.  It would need some work.

I just want to munch.  I'm not hungry, but I'm not full.  I'm trying to keep it under control with drinking my tea.  I know if I eat something carby I'll get gassy and feel bad.

B - protein coffee (10'ish again) ok - didn't have this.  My protein "curdled" - yuk!

    S - a banana

L - smart Ones meal and a peach

D - 3 oz steak and lobster tail

    Vits:will do

Water:  Making my own low-sugar cranberry tea - we'll see how it turns out

Topic: RE: What the new doc said...

    Interesting...

Now - my Dr told me I could cut out shakes because my protein was good and it appears I'm getting enough from my food (now, I didn't do it because of that... just because)

With my recent gain, I'm trying to put protein shakes BACK into my diet to see if it is what I need to get things moving again.  I seemed to be successful when I was diligently drinking them (protein coffee)  Obviously cutting them out didn't help.  Of course my choice of food/drink doesn't probably help either ;(  I do focus on solid proteins first.  my snacks lately have been veggies and fruit.

Glad you had a successful Drs visit and thanks for sharing.  It gives the rest of us something to think about and what we can do to maintain/lose again.

I really beat myself up anymore about eating carbs - any kind, especially simple.  But if i do, I try to select whole grains.  It also helps keep my blood sugar stable.  Simple carbs really mess with it!

    I'll post here too!

Gorgeous weather here in MI today - 82, low humidity and a nice breeze.  VERY nice after the cold, bone chilling weather we had Sun/Mon.

Having the munchies today for some reason.  I think it's cause I ate some carbs yesterday and am thinking I need more... when I'm in MI my eating schedule is pretty close to the times below.  Just the way it likes to eat I guess. That is when I feel hungry.

    Coffee

B (at 10am) 2 egg scramble with veggies (spinach, onions, green peppers, tomatoes and cheese)

    S - (noonish) a few grapes and a peach

L - (at 2:30) - peanut butter and SF jelly sandwich on lite wheat bread (that's the munchie part)

    D - ?

    vites: yes
