  • For those of you who achieved this.... what was your husband's response?

  • My hubby's comment was, Wow! Followed, by his traditional, "Proud of you!" :) He's so supportive, I could not have a better cheerleader for this journey!

  • My hubby, God bless him, said that he'd never seen me as weighing more than him... That I was his wife and none of that stuff mattered anyway. When I started my WLS journey, I weighed about 150 pounds more than him!

  • My DH is wonderful when it comes to my weight and will be happy for me. The only problem I believe he has is with his own climbing weight and it makes him sad. Maybe this possibility will kick start his own weight loss? We need to get moving and work together on our healthier lifestyles! We'll both be happier and live longer!

  • Today when weighing at the Dr's, the scale finally showed me 2 and 1/4 pounds less than my DH!! He has been losing weight to keep me from catching up - but today I went past!. Hopefully he will continue to be motivated to lose as well! He is very happy about my weight loss and it truly is making him want to get healthier as well!

  • Mike knew I was trying to weigh less than him and he kept losing a little bit too, which pissed me off because he really hasn't been trying. LOL Last week we were exactly the same and today on my 2 month surgiversary, I went 2 lbs under him!!!WOO HOO!!! I am so excited, as I have not weighed less than him in over 20 years!!!! He is happy for me and congratulated me with a kiss and more...lol

  • When my hubby found out that I was hoping to loose another 20 pounds before we see his kids at the end of October, he said Great! Then he thought about it and did the math. He realized that I would finally weigh less then him if I reached that goal. He took that as a cue to start to do something and now he is walking a mile with me everyday on the treadmill. He really doesn't need to loose weight as much as get in better shape, or he won't be able to keep up with me and the kids.

  • I weigh about 60lbs more than my DH right now. He is trying to loose weight too. He only needs to loose about 15lbs to be at a healhy BMI. He has been so supportive since I started on the road to WLS. He loves me at any weight. He also wants me to be healthy too.

  • Well my hubby is GAINING weight (working out while in Iraq). If he keeps this up I may not need surgery to have him weigh more than me. Im 230, he is 190(twisted steel and sex appeal, he says) up from 170 in 2 months time. He wont even send me pics of him!!!But thats OK...I have surgery next month and you know what they say about payback. LOL

  • Until I was pregnant, my husband had no idea what I weighed. I even made him look away at the first few appointments. One day, he ended up asking me why I did that and I told him because I was embarrassed to weigh more than him. He didn't believe me. The next time we went to the doctor, I didn't make him look away. He didn't say anything, but I think he was pretty shocked that I'm almost a foot shorter than him and weighed nearly 100 lbs more than him!

  • When my hubby and I got married he was 163 and I was 173. I hated that I was 10 lbs more than him. Well NOW I only wish it was ONLY 10 lbs! I am almost 100 lbs more than him now. But I have my RNY March 25th and I so plan on getting below him as soon as possible! LOL He really loves me at whatever weight I am and that makes me happy. But I don't have the energy to take care of my family and I hate that. So he is very supportive of me having the surgery. He has known me since I was 13 years old and weighed 121 lbs. so he has saw me skinny before. It won't be a shock to him, well maybe it will be. I HAVE been over weight for 20 years now. WOW that is a lot!

  • I have a wonderful hubby who adores me no matter what. I have been dealing with major back issues for a long time now, and my hope and prayer is that losing a lot of weight will let me be the kind of wife and mom and person I want to be and not be so hindered by the pain in my back.
