An open discussion of the feasibility of directly removing visceral fat, in particular mesenteric fat, as an alternative treatment of metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and obesity. Is this a possibly safer alternative to leaving behind a foreign body, cutting into the stomach or small intestine, or rearranging the body's alimentary plumbing?
