Loving it so far, thanks!  Walked a lot yesterday - I can see that we won't be using the car much.  Nancy has an 8 minute walk to work.  To get to Manhattan we walk 4-5 blocks and jump on the subway.  There's grocery stores and a huge mall within 10 minutes walk.  And of course restaurants.  So our mode will switch from needing the car to do just about anything to only needing it occasionally... great for general health - we don't have to go for walks.... we just do our normal daily routine and we'll get 10,000 steps in.

This is my 2nd day of not weighing. I decided that I need a new approach to this. The scale isn't telling me anything new because I'm not giving it anything new.

I had this ridiculous, yet funny moment with my family the other night about a food choice and it got me to thinking about what I really want. I really want to feel proud of my food choices. The thing I hate most about eating crap, even if it's just an M&M or 5, is that I have to deal with the guilt of eating it. Hopefully, when I get to goal, I can start dealing with the guilt because there are always going to be times in our lives when we eat something that we wish we hadn't. But right now, feeling proud of myself and using that as my gauge is the thing that I am going to try for a month.

I am very proud of my eating yesterday. We took the kids to the amusement park. It was a fun day.

120 today. my favorite number.

went to the wacky hippie barbeque yesterday. It was fun. ate a little goat meat which i didn't much like. also quite a few chips (ok they were flax seed health food chips but a chip is a chip) with homemade goat cheese. that was great. ditto the home made wine.  fun time relaxing in the redwoods with lots of nice zany people.   diane
