123.0 this morning. Upped my calories to 1,300 and ate 1,414 yesterday. Level 2 boot camp and snowshoeing for exercise yesterday.

I'm up bright and early for work this morning. I don't anticipate it being very busy and will probably only work a 1/2 day or maybe even less.

I'll check on you all when I get home! Have a great day!

Good Morning !

138.8 ... 3.8 pounds from my lower red line, but who's counting !!!! I am !  What a difference between thinking of adding back calories as soon as I hit the top of my range initially at 149, then lowering my target range and waiting until I reached the very bottom of the new range !       It is sunny and may hit 30 here today, so will definitely add a long walk with Sadie to the mile swim I did at 7AM. I have some housework to accomplish, as well as three teacher evaluations to write up.

My head is in a great place. My body is moving well and feeling powerful. I am so grateful, and just want to fuel it to keep it healthy. I will use all of my strongest Reiki Master energy to share this positive mojo with you, my inspiring maintenance friends !!

Diane S., thank you for founding this amazing space, that has become my lifeline !!!

Hi all, Its a sleepy overcast day here and everyone but me is napping. I am up a pound, dang it, so gotta get with it. No excuses.  Visiting girl dog is still here so walks all around maybe.

Thanks Ocean Diane regarding this group. I started it when I was out of town helping my brother and had little to do in the evenings. A group of us had recently reached goals on the main vsg forum and we were finding that our issues were different than those a few weeks out of surgery. I contacted OH and they said they would not do a new forum but that I could start a group.  The hippo figure is one I made and gave to my surgeon. It doesn't show well but it has the vsg 5 tiny incision marks on it.  Sometimes I think our group photo should be Frisco's picture of him in an airplane seatbelt with a foot of extra belt.  Thats us. I am glad we have a core of active people and I've checked in here almost every day for five years.

So everybody out there, chime in please.  diane s

Hi gang. Hope everyone is well. My scale is up one to 114 after an off plan evening with a couple glasses of wine and dessert. Didn't do too badly overall and I enjoyed the company. I don't expect that pound to stick around so all in all a success.

I'm laying low today. Did not sleep well and feeling tired and sleepy now so napping on the couch. Fresh snow on the ground so pretty to look at from inside. My energy and mood are still quite low so hoping that the meds start to soon.

I think I am feeling Diane Ocean's Reiki Master energy!  Or, perhaps an extra 2-3 cups of coffee.

My day started wobbly with will-I-or-won't-I go cross country skiing.  I finally decided to go, packed the car with extra clothes/supplies and headed out.  Just a few miles from home they announced pass closure for avalanche control.  I circled back and ended up at slow-flow yoga.

But, all was good, the SUN CAME OUT, I ran errands sporting skinny jeans and found that Costco Miralax now comes in an extra large size which warms this VSG heart.

Scale up to an unearned 125.3 this morning.  Just the cosmos nudging me to stay mindful.

I plan on Yin yoga tonight as well as personal trainer homework.

Thanks all for being here!

Shel

UGH... when it rains..... I have laryngitis! I feel somewhat okay, but lots of mung in my throat and can croak out a sentence when I put some air behind it. Dayquil is my friend today. Have to go to Sonoma for a triple b'day party.

Leg feels very much the same as yesterday.

Weight up - and deservedly so. Low water day, Club meeting with pot luck (I ate well here, but nibbled some sort of peanut butter whipped desert thing), German food for dinner, a little bit of chocolate, and the most wonderful cakelet that threw me over the edge. It was a Black Forest Cakelet. To die for. It took me a while, but I finished it while we were talking after dinner. I did share, but I ate the majority of it.

This, my friends, is my Last Supper mentality raising its head. Tomorrow is low carb day #1. Question: do you drop to fewer than 40 or fewer than 20 grams per day to hit ketosis? I've read both and honestly I don't remember because immediately post VSG I didn't have to think about it, it just happened because I ate (drank) so damn little. Here's another thing - Most of the websites say NET CARBS not total carbs for getting into ketosis. Those of you with recent experience, which did you count, net or total carbs?

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Um, yum to that dessert!

I think Carbs for Ketosis varies per person. I would check with a urine keto stick to be sure (can buy at any drug store). I would maybe try 40 first for a week and then check. If you test + for ketones, you are good to go. If not, decrease carbs and check again.

I think traditional Atkins induction (2 weeks) is defined as

Oh - I forgot, I always count total carbs not net
