Good morning, Peeps!

120.7 today.  Lower than my 121-128 target.  (My favorite is 122-124) My lymphedema arm is now just as flappy as the other arm, I don't remember it ever being this empty.  I'll watch and see what happens on the scale.  Less sodium is also at play since I moved all snacks except kale chips out of my office.

It would be nice to know what my calorie intake has been and if it has changed, but I don't know. (Collective gasp!) I had been religious in using MFP since June 2014 but at spring break I stopped.

Without MFP, I felt like I was freestyling my food choices.  In reality, it was more of mental break than a change in eating habits.  As before, most everything was portioned meals from my own recipes from the freezer or fridge.  What DID change was crunchy this and that which insidiously increased over time and found their way into my office drawer. I counted on my daily weigh in as my tether.

Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing what my current maintenance calories are over the next few weeks.

I am mindful that I won't have a scale for my daily weight when we go to Alaska for 2 weeks later this summer.  Without the daily weight, MFP will need to be my tether.  We will be in an RV. Most meals will be from the RV's kitchen and I will have a food scale.

Paula, have a good trip.  For those of you in tornado alley, I hope all of that has calmed down.  Lorna, thinking of you.

Let's speed our way to the weekend!

Okay Shel I admit it - I did the gasp at you not using MfP right now. As someone a little further out, I think it was important for me to continue using MFP on a daily basis during my first year of maintenance and if you have no overriding reason not to do it, I'd ask you to consider carrying on with it after your upcoming 'calorie test'.

I know my capacity level changed again during that year, and I found it helpful at times to look back and reflect on the written record as things got a bit more loosey goosey with my food choices - and yes they will continue to get more loosey goosey. I actually think that's a normal and healthy part of maintenance, but the data did turn out to be very beneficial to me.

*stepping off my soap box

No worries about the soap box, that is a major reason I hang out here :)

I never meant for the not-tracking to go on this long.   That is always how the downward spiral starts, right?  Or, it does for me, at least.  I do plan to continue onward.  I need as many tethers as possible.  It is not difficult and I am well aware that food journaling is something a common characteristic in those who are successful in maintenance.

I did adjust my settings to "on plan, mostly on plan, no nutrient value and within 2 hours of bed."   It tickles my brain to have a new way to look at the numbers.

Yup I'm a head in the sand person too, needing many reality checks along the way.  Participating in this group is an important way to get them, isn't it!

Love your mfp categories - it's the data you need to fine tune along the way.

Yup, reality checks from the outside is something that I lacked in the past.  So, I come for the soapbox and stay for the company :)

164# Not pretty!!! So, I had a plan and didn't follow my plan.   I've managed sometimes doing the best I could and other times not so much.  I can gain weight so easily it's not even funny.  So, I'm feeling really fat and jealous (you're not alone Devon).  Only I can do something about this! Slamming water today...that's been a real problem for me.  I'll start with that and add something else positive tomr. Tonight, is dinner with friends for Andy's birthday.  I can choose protein and veggies.  And, to be real, a few bites of dessert and a glass of wine.

I gain strength from this group.  Thank you!!!

I'll get workout today with my trainer.  Haircut.  Ck on my raised bed and weed the pot garden. That's my day.

8 more days of school!!!!

Have a great weekend.

Well Lesa, I seem to be sticking my nose in everyone's business today, so I have a question for you.  Why a glass of wine AND a few bites of dessert?  Could you just indulge in just one or the other?
