Hello everyone.

yes please Diane, a photo of your art work would be great.  And continued thanks to the safari people for theirs.   Joey jo, still trying to wrap my head around the Dr saying that two weeks of drinking water will result in weight loss.    My goodness!!!!!

Land thanks for all the kind words re:  the knee.   Pain colours everything doesn't it.

calories were 1098 and steps only 5,766.    Dr wants an MRI but with this province's wait list that won't happen until Nov and have to travel for a day to get there.   I have tried to find a private pay, again a days travel  and for only $2,500, it could be done but that is so far out our ability that we cannot think about it.

life goes on.  Doing the exercises and am assured that they wifl help..

enjoy your weekend.

Happy Saturday, Fab Family!

1st of all, be sure to check back later today for a separate post featuring Diane S's art!

123.1 this morning after two weeks of no weighing while on vacation.  That is an absolutely acceptable number.  Moving on!

Carbon, I am sorry about your knee, pain and a delay in care.  November!  But, fingers crossed that the MRI would have just showed that what you need is targeted exercises and time.

I am inspired by you no-sugar folks to try to commit to no kitchen drive by's.  But, haven't committed yet.  I might have to do it hour by hour.  (How pathetic is that?  But, I suspect this group understands.)

Yoga class later today!  I did take my mat with me in the RV and used most days.   But my own practice is a poor substitute for a guided practice.

Lots of extended family drama going on.  DH is POA for his mom who has always had a powerhouse brain but is now saddled with dementia.  She has accused him of neglect.  She has considerable verbal skills in the moment but since her complaints include "cancelation of toilet paper service" her accusations are considered more a sign of worsening dementia rather than real.

She was found to have a UTI and we hope that as that infection clears her brain will improve, too.  He was up until the wee hours gathering his documentation to present to her later today.  Besides the toilet paper thing, she thinks her visa was canceled, etc.  She still has her powerhouse brain and will understand/accept the documentation --- until she forgets she saw it.  Very, very sad.

Have a great day!  Shel

So impressed with your post vacation weight! Way to go girl! Those UTI'so can create worsening dementia for sure. We see it all the time in the hospital!

Yup, we see it on the ambulatory side, too.  Very sneaky how that works.  My husband's family is 100% non-medical so this is uncharted territory for them.

I am down another .4 today.  I shall continue my happy dance.

Carbon - I'm sorry, that long of a wait sounds like an eternity, especially when you are in pain. Is a cortisone injection an option during the wait time? I know they are not pleasant, but my dad said it sure helped his hip pain while waiting for surgery.

Shel, 123 is fabulous. I don't think you could even classify that as a gain. If anything a mild flux. I'm proud of you! You know vacation is one of my big downfalls, so props to you!

I ordered the book Diane S mentioned in her post yesterday. I went on line and read the synopsis and it sounded really very good. Will let you all know. Thanks for the recommendation! If you read this before seeing Dr. C, tell him I said hi. It's been since January since I've seen him!

Diane O. - How are you? I'm worried that we didn't hear from you yesterday. Please check in when you are able.

2 more sleeps Paula or is it now just one more sleep?  Are you really thinking of retiring to Hawaii? I couldn't do it. I'd feel a bit trapped I think. Plus, I like my seasons (as mild as they are here).

Exercise and food were on point. My workout was intense enough that I am already feeling the stiffness of repairing muscles. I like the feeling, but if I feel it now, I know it's going to be a bit more intense by this evening. The new workout was strenuous enough that I didn't want to finish my gym time with cardio. 45 minutes of HIIT was enough. I spent 10 minutes cooling down on the treadmill and called it a day.

One of these days I'm going to have to get back to logging. I am measuring to  check portion size on some things, but not everything. I'm wondering if eating as I know I should and being mindful of portion sizes, staying super low sugar, being watchful of the grazing and keeping up a regular exercise routine will be enough for a while. Clearly, I do not want to put the effort into logging my intake right now. I'm not going to force the issue.

Hope we all have a good weekend. I have a "free" day today and am looking forward to being in vacation mode today. I have a puppy playdate scheduled, but beyond that I'm taking the day as it unfolds!

Nope, not a gain :)  I think I was 126 the day I left but that was up 3 lbs over one night.  So, 123 is stable.  Can hardly believe that it all balanced out!

Very impressed by your low sugar eating.

Around 129 today. Got in 131 flights of stairs and over 16,000 steps hiking Haleakela yesterday. Last full day on Maui and already feeling a little said about that.

Yes, we are planning on retiring here. I'm not too worried about missing the seasons. Plus you don't have to travel too far to experience different climes. We have rain forests to deserts and everything in between. Yesterday at Haleakela it was in the 50's and I wore long pants and a light down jacket.

Great hike!  How are you weighing?  Everywhere you stay has a scale?

I'm impressed that you are enjoying such varied food and holding pretty stable on the scale.

The condo we are in now has a scale. The real test will be when I get on mine at home
